even if i cancel i cannot use up my third LSAT try?

Post by sangr » Wed Jun 08, 2011 3:48 pm

ok so i cancelled my LSAT on the spot..

and the rules say that even if i cancel, it takes up my limit of three times.

is there any way around this other than waiting for applying to law school and getting permission? i ask this because if possible i want to register ASAP at a center nearby.

So you just took your 3rd LSAT in a 2 year span and cancelled?

The only ways I know of to take it a 4th time is to wait until 2+ years after the oldest test or to get a waiver (which I believe you get from a school). I have no idea how the process goes with asking a school for waiver, but if you are supposed to get it from them I suggest that you contact them and ask if you can't find any info here.

Getting a waiver is extremely easy, I've never heard of a waiver request not being successful, you don't need a special reason, they just give them to whomever asks. The whole limit of three times in two years is essentially meaningless--I know people who have gotten waivers for 4th and 5th times.

I've definitely heard of people taking it far more than three times within a two year span by contacting a law school they're interested in applying to and getting "sponsored." I am not sure what this entails specifically, but you can definitely do it and probably don't have to wait any length of time to pursue it.
