UGHHHHH

Post by Maryam19 » Sun May 29, 2011 5:15 pm

So for some STUPID STUPID STUPID reason I finished prep test 50-62 last month, and saved all of the old ones to do now. I just completed my last prep test (#27) and got a 161!!!!!!!!!! Ughhhh -15 on one of the LR sections!?!?!??!?!?!?! 2 weeks ago, I got a 167 on the December 2010 test....a pretty wide discrepancy...Great, the last prep test I had left and I did relatively bad...now I have absolutely no confidence going into the exam...what should I do the next week?

I scored 9 points below my cold diag six days before test day. Ended up with a score 12 points above diag (21 points above that test).

Walk away for a couple days, then sit down and take another PT cold. Depending on how long you have until test day at that point, you can see roughly where you are at that point.

Thank you. What a relief....Did you notice that there was something particularly wrong six days before your test? For example, lack of sleep, focus??? Or do that wide of discrepancies really exist..?

I was in a different environment, but I didn't feel like I was particularly unfocused (until maybe the end of RC...went 0/6 on passage 4, which of course didn't help). At that point, I had taken 5 tests in 8 days, and just needed the break.

Breaks are good - it seems like they help your brain sort of wrap itself around all the information you've been trying to pack in for a while.

The test is a week from tomorrow...I want to take a break, but I'm scared to so close to the actual thing....:(

The last thing you want on the real deal is some sort of latent burnout-type thing waiting to happen.

Take the break and then go back to your normal routine on Wednesday or so.
