Yes. The difference in admissions outcomes between 166 and 173 is huge.
166 will keep you out of the t-14 for sure
173 will place you in the t-14 for sure

I'm sorry; this clearly isn't the response you wanted, but it's true.

If you can afford to take the year off to retake I would say do it. Because it's so late in the application cycle most schools have already given out all of the scholarship money they had available. Also, statistically, schools are slightly easier to get into if you apply early rather than late. In essence the year postponment could gain you a significant scholarship to offset the amount you were worried about missing in your first year of employment. This could be especially true with an increase in LSAT score.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what T25 schools did you get accepted into? I have similar numbers and I'm trying to narrow down my search.
