Erik admits lightning causes some damage, but insists that preventing such damage is pointless. If the installation of lightning rods can prevent lightning damage, such installation is not pointless. Erik does not demonstrate that the installation of lightning rods would be pointless. That is A in a nutshell. B confuses Erik's actual conclusion (Frieda's recommendation is pointless) with one supplied by the reader (e.g. faulty wiring and overloaded circuits must be addressed).
