I love you guys

Post by Sandro » Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:42 pm

Seriously. I don't know where I would be right now without TLS. While I put in a ton of work TLS made sure it was the right kind of work.

I got a 157 my first LSAT in sep09 on some halfass studying. I decided to wait a cycle and retake.

17 months later and after a 164 I got a 167 in Dec. While TLS's obsession with scoring in the 98-99% percentile is unhealthy and morbid at best it is a good motivating factor - I had many friends with stellar GPAs take the LSAT once , score sub 160 and say they were done.

I had to delay my score reaction for 2+ hours as I was inside the Verizon store. Going out tonight to celebrate and I want to thank every one of you. Seeya tomorrow, and just remember those of you who didnt score where they want to - with enough work you CAN achieve your goal as long as its realistic.

I came here to say the same thing. I took a cold diagnostic test with Princeton Review two years ago and scored a 147. I got my 168 back today. A year ago I was happy that I was PTing at 159 and the people that posted on this forum made me realize that I was selling myself short.

Thank you all.

Congrats to both of you! Just goes to show that with hardcore studying, significant improvements can happen.

Agreed.

I owe this forum my 167.

I got a shitty score on my ACT because I refused to study and had no work ethic. This forum really motivated me.

Ditto. Some people may badmouth how the default answer on TLS is "retake," but I probably would've settled with a low 160s score had I not found this forum. I got a 170 on the Dec LSAT.

Tough love works. *fist bump*

I agree completely. When I signed up for the Oct 10 test I didn't know if I would motivate myself to study and found myself distracted after just 1 LR section. Even though I eventually canceled my Oct. score I had 20+ PTs under my belt on test day thanks mostly to TLS overachievers. To all the condescending, pretentious, and spastic TLS posters: thank you my new friends. But for this crazy forum, I would not have refreshed LSAC every 5 seconds for a solid hour to receive my 170 today!
Off to the admissions forum after a night of celebration.

It's nice to see one thread on TLS that isn't filled with or predicated upon rage, bitchiness, and condescension. Congrats on the scores, everybody.

I'm beginning to agree. At first I thought that this forum might throw me off my game if I visited it to frequently during prep because everyone here is so hardcore, but all of you guys are actually really motivating and really make me want to score 170+.

Congrats to everyone who got the score they wanted, and good luck to those re-writing or considering alternative career paths.

congrats on the scores guys!

while i didnt find TLS till after I had taken my LSAT, it was still a great resource for the app process...and i still constantly learn a lot of things from the site

sure some threads get trolled, and there are flamers and mean e-people :(, but if you approach it w/ the right attitude (a resource in the form of an online forum), i think it'll pay dividends

Agreed. Without this forum I never would have known what I should be shooting for. Thanks for helping me go from a 165 last February to a 173 in December! Thanks for the motivation!

I also agree. I would have been pretty happy with a top 10 percent after I diagnosed at 160. In fact, I was pretty happy with my initial 160.

After time on this forum, my June 166 was obviously sub-par. Now I'm pretty happy with my December 171.
