Interest Thread: Your STATE School
Where is your state of residence? What is the state school and why would you not consider taking in-state tuition and going there for LS?

Illinois. University of Illinois.iWayneState wrote:Where is your state of residence? What is the state school and why would you not consider taking in-state tuition and going there for LS?
I wouldn't attend because I don't want to live in Illinois. I am sick of Chicago winters and I hate how flat and ugly Illinois is.
Probably lame reasons, and U of I is a decent school, but I've lived in IL for most of my life and I am more than ready for a change of scenery.

Florida State is the only school in my state I'd consider but I don't want to live in FL for the rest of my life (I've been here all 21 years) so I would prefer to move somewhere north like VA or NC.

WV for me.
WVU is not a terrible school. Just not one with a ton of options. I would not mind coming back and practicing in the state, ite.

Best state in the Union: Texas. University of Texas-Austin. I want to work in D.C. or Northern Virginia and well UT was never really on my radar for that...I did apply after my advisor said I would be crazy to pass on in-state tuition at a great school...likely going to Vandy as I sit here today

I wish my state school was a Iowa or UW. Getting an instate boost at a t-35 ls would make this process much more relaxing.

Ohio State. I suppose it's good enough as far as state schools go, I just have no desire to live in Ohio.

Lived in Miami all my life, except for Tallahassee for 3.5 yrs for undergrad. Will always have love for the 305, but want to try out a new place or two before I die. UF is still my safety though since I would graduate with so little debt.

NY. The best school is Buffalo (86) and who the hell would want to spend three years in that ice tundra of a city.

University of Texas. Great school by all standards, just not by mine.
In all seriousness, I just want to maximize my chances of getting a good job after law school and what easier way to do that than simply entering the best school you can while you can?
