Games Reactions?
This always interests me the most as it is my worst section.
So glad I skipped ahead to the last game with the "either" blocks, because I was getting fucked on stained glass and a little bit on that first long game.
Conferences I didn't even try, just grabbed the first acceptability question and guessed on the rest.
Pretty sure I got at least a -12. With some lucky guesses it could be better

Re: Games Reactions?
Conferences/Windows was nuts. The two games on the end of those two were easy though, although the first one took a lil longer for some reason. This games was def harder than Oct, atleast in october I thought I got the game, these two i was just lost grasping for straws and doing hypos...

Yeah I dont know what happened to me with the utilities(?) game.
Got 3 out of the 6 questions and just couldn't find the rest. Although I may have grabbed one real quick before the end.

Re: Games Reactions?
Dude they were ass. At least minus 12 for me, too. It sucks because I rocked the other three, and that will also be the worst I've done on any logic game- including my original cold practice.

Re: Games Reactions?
I was killed by games in October, missed 3 or 4 simply due to time.
I finished these games in time and don't think I missed any so I would be inclined to say easier, but it looks like I'm alone here.

lol as soon as I posted that 2014 posted that they were easy.
Congrats though, in all sincerity. If you crushed the games you should be good.

Re: Games Reactions?
definitely alot tougher than October where I finished with 15 minutes left. These games took me til the final minute. I hope this means a lenient curve.

Re: Games Reactions?
Sigh... I've done every PT in the latter of the 2000s, and the only -1s I've gotten were from either bubbling mistakes or unexplainable errors. This is definitely the toughest games section I've encountered. Was gonna cancel until everyone here just made me feel a little better... (Despite the obvious selection bias)

Re: Games Reactions?
Not that I understand what you went through, December writers, but just to offer some hope - Games was my last section in October. In the very last game, Nurses, I messed up the "exactly two" rule. I thought I got six questions wrong on that alone. I seriously contemplated canceling because of that one mistake, but I held out because I felt pretty good about the other sections. I spent a lot of time on TLS moping about it when almost everyone else came in reporting that the Games were a piece of cake.
Turns out I only got 3 wrong. And I went -2 on RC and -0 on LR and ended up with a 177. So, while in some catastrophic cases it's best to cancel, other times it's best to ride it out.

damn i was hoping stained windows was experimental. I'm pretty sure I got -1 or -2. I remember the first game took a long time, windows was deceptively hard. I'm gonna guess a lot of people didn't finish. I think the curve will be huge.

Re: Games Reactions?
I usually do -0 to -1 on games, misreading a question if I do miss one. I did not even finish LG today. I had to mark 5 answers B because I did not have time to do them. I also think I missed a couple on two of the other games. I am predicting as high as -9 for me today, which is going to significantly lower my overall score.

It was pretty bad for me too. I only completed 2.5 games and guessed on everything else.guinness wrote:These LGs f'd me in the A. Nuff said.

Re: Games Reactions?
The real LG section was a bitch for me. I usually do quite well but that one really got me. I thought LG was harder than usual and LR was a bit easier. RC about the same. I really can't remember. I had a EXP-LG section and I got 3 questions 100% I'm sure of, then the last one killed me sorta. The, after the break, another LG section. The real one, which seemed a hell of a lot harder. I'm not very happy but I have no idea what I got. Could be anything at this point.

Thanks for the story. I am hoping the same will happen to me. Had the feelings that the stars finally line up for me and a perfect score is no longer a distant wet dream, until the game section.mtrl wrote:Not that I understand what you went through, December writers, but just to offer some hope - Games was my last section in October. The game is much harder than the October one.
1. The first game was easy but the lack of space made it very uncomfortable and harder than it was.
2. The stained glass was probably the longest game I have ever seen and it wasn't easy. There were 3 or 4 straight individual hypos, very time consuming and it can shift you right into the panic mode.
3. The conference game is difficult. The setup of the 1st question made me to diagram in a very uncomfortable way and I am positive I screwed up the whole thing.
4. The easiness of 4th game is shameful. Actually almost all the games from PT40 to PT54 fit into this type, the people back then should feel ashamed because the games from that era is simply an insult to human intelligence.

As someone who usually goes -0 to -2 on games and went -2 on October with finishing with 5 minutes or so to spare, I thought these games were way harder. It took me up until time was called and i struggled with a few. I foresee a lenient curve.

Re: Games Reactions?
How were the games, you ask? Well, let me give you a play-by-play:
First game reaction:

Second game reaction:

Shang Tsung being the Game and me being that corpse.
Third game reaction:
--ImageRemoved--
That's not my facial expression, that's Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy = the game. Me = not pictured rape/murder victim.
Fourth game reaction:
It was easy but I was unable to react happily to it after what I had just gone through.

yes, never understood the people that said the older games were easier.ThreeYears wrote:Thanks for the story. I am hoping the same will happen to me. The PT games in the early 50s were disgustingly easy.
I had no idea how to diagram conferences effectively, so I guessed on everything except the first easy question.
Stained glass had so many fucking hypos...
and yeah I think the lack of space hurt me on the first game as well, shouldn't have been as hard as it was

I would be probably thinking cancel right now if i hadn't skipped to the last game and seen how easy it was...
