Any advice on food, energy drinks for break?
Hey guys and gals, hope everyone's studying is going well for the December LSAT.
In October, one issue I ran into is that I became mentally fatigued about halfway through the test. I think this happened for a variety of reasons: I did not get enough sleep the night before and I had not practiced with five section tests. Mental stamina is the one thing I neglected in my studies and, after reviewing my incorrect answers, its obvious it made me miss questions I normally answer correctly.
This time around I've been getting up early on Saturdays to take five section practice tests. I think I've greatly improved my stamina.
This weekend, however, I want to test a few energy drinks during the break to see if they help. Any suggestions on energy drinks that won't make me jittery and won't cause me to "crash" when they wear off?

Nothing. You waited to late to practice PT's with a set energy drink/snack. If you don't care about going in and just hoping something won't cause you problems, then...

Sometimes I use 5 hour energy extra strength and they work good for me, since I barely notice the regular ones. I would agree with cliff bars, since they are pure carbs. Protein bars are for muscle building, carb bars are for quick energy.

The best energy boost I can suggest is taking the day off on Friday and getting a good night's sleep on Saturday.

stay away from caffeine ( coffee and soda pop) during the break. It may make you have to pee. I have heard that 5 hour energy keeps you awake without having to go to the restroom afterwords. Give it a try during your prep tests.
the best answer is to get enough sleep the entire week before the test. While you will be anxious the night before, you should be traiing yourself to go to bed around 9 30 10, and waking up earlier ( 7 or sooner- depending on how far you have to commute). This way you will be trained in going to bed early, and waking up earlier.

Granola bar. Peppermint (just an added bit of sugar). And water.
Make sure to use the restroom during the break. Nothing is more of a distractor than a full bladder.

I smoke a bowl of some premium dank during the ten minute break, you should try that. Also try it on the morning of Dec 11. Great results guaranteed.

I'd avoid caffeine. I'm pretty sure I got two questions wrong (last 2 on section 5) because I had to pee after chugging a red bull during break. I say clif bar, sip of water from drinking fountain to wash it down, and a cig. then use the bathroom and you're good to go.

Anecdote time. When I got my 175 in October, I didn't sleep very well the night before. I ate some eggs for breakfast, drank a 5-Hour Energy on the way to the test, and did some light aerobics as I waited for the check-in to begin. On my break I ate a landjaeger (semi-dried German sausage) and a small piece of cheese.

Small bag of cashews. Rice krispie treat. Bottle of water. Make SURE to go to the bathroom.

I am a huge caffine junky. I drink 4-6 cups of coffee a day. Used to drink more energy drinks than a cast member of Jersey shore. And with that said, I would NOT recommend energy drinks for the test. They never give me the jitters, but I think the combined adrenaline of the test and even one small red bull fucked me over and made me really jittery.
The second time around, I drank a normal amount of coffee before the test and drank about half a 5-hour during the break. I did much better.

whatever you do, make sure 12/11 is not the first time you tried it during the break. Try one or 2 pts with the break snack and drink ( or just the drink) and see how it affects you.

My advice:
1) Slightly reduce your normal caffeine intake. You will already be jacked up and ready to go, so adding caffeine will push you over the edge. (at least it did for me)
2) Cliff Bar
3) Banana
