Retaking....what if I get a lower score?

Post by cmaas » Mon Nov 29, 2010 12:31 pm

I didn't do well on my first LSAT and am therefore retaking in a couple weeks. My fear is that I leave there feeling 'Okay' with my performance (and not canceling my score) and then getting a lower score. Will schools still take my higher score? Will they hold this against me?

In general schools only look at the higher. However, they might hold it against you as far as a tiebreaker with an identical applicant without a lower score. The effect would be the same if you did worse the first time and improved your score on the retake.
