How many times have you taken the LSAT?

Post by minnbills » Mon Nov 01, 2010 5:32 pm

As a future retaker, I'm curious. How many people retake? What did you change in your study habits? Did you get the result you wanted?

I only took Pt. 60 and 58 from the most recent tests, I took 1-30 and did the LG bible.

For Feb, I'll be rounding out all the PTs and doing some other textbooks looking for that 170.

I'm no genius, but I wanted to get over with it on my first try... I think the most important thing is endurance... I did 8 sections without a break everyday for a week before the LSAT... also ALWAYS time your PTs

I took it twice: October '09 and December '09. 157 the first time, 170 the second. I was sick and sleepless the night before the first test. 157 was only two points above my cold diagnostic! I was fuckin' pissed. I changed nothing in my study habits, because they were yielding excellent results. Read the Bibles, do 2 or 3 timed PT's with an extra section thrown in per week. Do Powerscore's Logic Games workbook, read "Informal Logic" and The Economist and other shit.

Yes, I got the result I wanted. By the way, you might consider putting a poll up...

once. retaking again. More people are retaking now because most schools take the higher score.

I took it three times and a 165 is all I have to show for it.

Ditto for me. I did relatively well during the October exam, but my GPA is barely above the 25th percentile for some schools I'm interested in. Not even thinking about applying to the schools that average, so I really can't see a disadvantage to taking it twice.

Getting the first exam jitters seems to have helped a lot of people--hopefully December is like that for me :).

Twice -

but once two years before that I knew I wasn't ready and just didn't go - got an absence - probably not the biggest deal but yikes

to all those out there still facing the beast - good luck, work hard - keep at it and you may do better then you ever thought possible
