score disappointment... need help.
After PTing at around 167-170... I have the dissapointing score of 163.... with my subpar GPA 3.45... I have no idea what to do... my worst case scenario was always Fordham PT, but i dont think i even have the numbers for that.... how should i study for a retake? I'm so broken down I don't even know if I can do it.

i guess so. I just feel like I can't even do it. I'm so out of the mindset for taking this test. I wasn't prepping at all when I was waiting for my score.

I apologize if my sentences are incoherent, I am a bit wasted right now. My last shot is in December so I'm a bit worried. Trust me on this, the first lsat is a big disappointment but after a couple of days pass, you'll be able to pick yourself up and start studying for it. And when you start studying the second time, you'll be a hell of a lot more determined. I really wish I had good advice for how to retake but I don't. Anyway, let's show the December test who is boss.SupraVln180 wrote:i guess so. I just feel like I can't even do it. I'm so out of the mindset for taking this test. You know the basics... theres not a ton more prepping you can do. Maybe a prep test or two per week. But be honest with yourself as far as your average PT goes... we have a tendency to bolster our ego and potential by pretending our average PT score is the same as our highest PT's. If your average is 167 and not just your high then retake. Otherwise, be wise in your decision.

my last week of prepping went (not in order) 165, 166, 167, 167, 170. So I felt i was pretty consistent. When I get a 163 (I felt decent about the test too), I feel like I didn't perform to my potential. Do you think I have any shot at Fordham PT with a 3.45 and 163 Hispanic, but non-urm

I'm in a similar situation. Solid 170 PT average. Scored 163. Although my GPA is 3.8, I have a June '10 cancel on record... Not sure how bad that's going to look or how to explain it in an addendum.SupraVln180 wrote:After PTing at around 167-170... I have the dissapointing score of 163.... with my subpar GPA 3.45... I'm POSITIVE I can score much higher on test day, as I had a few PT's in the high 170's, so I registered to retake in December. But now I'm soooo stressed about late applications. Reallllllly hoping to get into UCLA...

I know someone who got in to Fordham PTwith a 161/3.3 This was like 2 years ago though.
Cheer up though, 163 is a very good score, and better than 90% of the testing population. You should be able to get in to a Tier 1 school. If you want to build on that, great, retake, but don't act like your world just ended.
