Strategy plan
I took the June 2010 LSAT, which I would rank as among the most difficult LSATs I had seen after taking around 20 PTs, and scored an unimpressive 157. I am aiming for a 5 point increase, but have not looked at an LSAT in nearly 2 months. My weakest section is LR, as I did not complete both sections in June. What is the best course of action to take to reach my goal given the time constraint? Any advice is appreciated. By the way, I work from 9-6:30...and have a girlfriend.

But seriously, if you've only taken 20 pts, you still have another 40 left at your disposal. Just take another 20. Make sure you take 5 section tests.

Really? Is this the consensus view? It seemed normal to me.waxecstatic wrote:I took the June 2010 LSAT, which I would rank as among the most difficult LSATs I had seen after taking around 20 PTs

Re: Strategy plan
The RC and LG sections seemed harder to me. The LR seemed easier. I'd say it was a difficult test, as the curve was pretty high - somewhere around -11 for 170 I think. But also, the curve factors in the difficulty of the exam, so I think it puts to bed any question on the objective difficulty of the test affecting a student's scaled score outcome. If you ended up scoring lower than your average PT, it may have been nerves, lack of sleep, or your adderall wearing off half-way because you had to wait 2 hours while signing your name and the honesty oath at the beginning.Bumi wrote:Really? I scored a 159. My PT high was 169. My low was 162. Fuck Darn the LSAC.

Re: Strategy plan
Thanks for the tips, everyone.
If the experimental LG had counted, I probably would not be having this conversation right now. The LG was insane. Normally 3 are manageable, one of which is very easy. I felt all 4 games were, at minimum, of medium difficulty. I averaged around a 162 on PTs. I also remember the passage about some Mexican play/costumes/political movement being a little...well...confusing.
And oh yeah, I don't take Adderall anymore (how did that poster know?!), and it would be more effective for the MCAT than the LSAT, for the LSAT is substantially is less material based.
What's a good number of hours to spend per night until the next exam?
