Best time to do superprep?
I'm out of bibles and other prep materials other than 6 of "Next Ten", the 12 most recent PTs, and the Superprep. I want to do the superprep, but I've heard it's best to be done in the last month (I'm taking in October).
Should I just do them now?

I'm doing Superprep A tomorrow and will probably read the actual "book" part next week. I'm interested to hear what people did too.

I think you can save 1 or 2 for the last month and take one early on. I took mine last month and I'm going to take the second this month and the last one in September..

I'm probably going to do all of them (again) in September.

I'd do them all early on so you can see LSAC's explanations. Plus the games are crazy hard so might as well not let that mess with your head.

Are they actually hard or simply unrepresentative of all the other LGs which makes them hard to solve?Knockglock wrote:I'd do them all early on so you can see LSAC's explanations. Plus the games are crazy hard so might as well not let that mess with your head.

Unrepresentatively hard.Anaconda wrote:Are they actually hard or simply unrepresentative of all the other LGs which makes them hard to solve?Knockglock wrote:I'd do them all early on so you can see LSAC's explanations. Plus the games are crazy hard so might as well not let that mess with your head.

I'd do them earlier on as well, knowing LSAC's own thought process behind the answers in LR/RC helps a lot for future PTs.

They will rape. I had a cold diagnostic with a very decent score in the 160's; then I did SuperPrep A and my confidence got DESTROYED.Anaconda wrote:Are they actually hard or simply unrepresentative of all the other LGs which makes them hard to solve?Knockglock wrote:I'd do them all early on so you can see LSAC's explanations. So yeah. Just be aware that the LG's are hard as balls.

Yup. That's exactly why I recommend doing them early, same thing happened to me.dub wrote:They will rape. Yeah. Just do them and read the explanations, at least for the ones you missed and ones you were unsure about, and if you can stand it for all of them (I couldn't stand it though lol).Hannibal wrote:All three of them?
Edit: Btw, I thought the LR was on the easier side so don't let that inflate you to much

.
Jeez, now I'm not sure if I should do Superprep A or PT 28 today, since LR is my weak area and LG is my strong area. Do you think it would be wise for me to take SP A knowing this?
Btw, according to the Kaplan Q ratings, the LGs on the superpreps have fairly easy questions. Weird.

-1, -4, -0 on LG parts of Superprep A, B, C; with 3 of the 4 of B caused by a stupid reading fail. Good / bad? (175, 172, 173 scaled scores respectively)

Scores in the low-mid 170's are bad. I have doubts about your intellectual capacity. Reconsider law school.nullisecundus wrote:-1, -4, -0 on LG parts of Superprep A, B, C; with 3 of the 4 of B caused by a stupid reading fail. Good / bad? (175, 172, 173 scaled scores respectively)

+ 1 for the difficulty.
I'd take them sooner rather than later. You can benefit a ton from hearing their perspective on why answers are right or wrong. Plus, it gives you some sort of a jumping off point when you try to review PT.

Ditto what's been said. I think doing the Superprep early is helpful. You can always go back and review it once you get closer to the date.

Re: Best time to do superprep?
Just took superprep A. Ended up with my best RC score BY FAR, and my best LR scores. I was shocked by how well I did on RC, especially since I did the last two sections in less than 14 minutes. Did terribly on the last 2 LGs though, wrote down a rule wrong for game 3 and that hurt me big time. The games were bizarre, I definitely have never seen anything like games 3 and 4. The curve on this test is also brutal, a -22 is only a 160.

Re: Best time to do superprep?
Glad to hear this. I just took the 3 Supertests had a lot of difficulty on the LG, and thought it meant my LG skills were falling apart. I'm glad they're on the more difficult end!Knockglock wrote:Yup. That's exactly why I recommend doing them early, same thing happened to me.dub wrote:They will rape. Re: Best time to do superprep?
Is SuperPrep actual tests or what? If so which previous PTs are they? I have taken 1-40 so far, and I was wondering how much SuperPrep will really help at this point. I have Princeton Reviews explanations and usually right my own out for wrong answers anyhow.

Re: Best time to do superprep?
They're previously unreleased February exams for I think early 2000s or something. So, they are actual exams, but they don't have a number. Quite useful since LSAC also gave us their own detailed explanations for every single question - I personally didn't like explanations done by test prep companies, but LSAC's were quite useful.StrictlyLiable wrote:Is SuperPrep actual tests or what? Re: Best time to do superprep?
Well, I got a 174 on Superprep A with -1 on the LG section. That makes me so god damn happy that LG is no longer my big problem.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
