I haven't dived into my studies yet, but I will have by the end of the week. It's hard because I work full time in a job that leaves me exhausted at the end of the day. (I'm supposed to teach ESL Kindergarteners baby English, but mostly I just yell and scream nonsense)
But I have tried to get into the habit of doing without any highly moving, or emotionally charged music. I've also decided not to go anywhere during my vacation period of a week. The music part is kind of easy. I'm bummed about not booking that cool trip I was looking forward to, but I think it's worth it if I really get some hard core studying done.
I'm also going to add a good amount of cardio to my workout routine. At the moment I focus mostly on weights...
Anyone else making some changes that are indirectly meant to affect (increase) your chances of doing well in October (or Dec) ?

I'm confused as to why you're trying to go without highly moving or emotionally charged music. Do you mean while studying? Or just in general? And why would that help you with the LSAT (directly or indirectly)? I'm genuinely curious.

It could just be that I'm acting paranoid, but I consider most of the music I frequently listen to distracting. I can't read to it and maintain a high level of focus, for instance. At the same time I'm not bothered by music being played at events or public places. It really comes down to eliminating potential roadblocks to concentrated periods of study. I'll admit that it may have no actual effect. You could call it a mind experiment based on my imagined fears. -_-

Re: Preparing for a test and lifestyle changes
its all about balance for me. I had a tough time being anti social and not hanging out with my friends on weekends, but I eventually did it somehow. Still though there can be some depressing, maddening times while I'm studying for the lsat and taking a day to eat and chill with some friends really helps put things in perspective. Also, cardio def. helps for studying and stamina. I'm teaching as well. Are you in a foreign country teaching ESL?

river: Yes I am. I live in Korea, around Seoul.
Balance is pretty important. I mean, if people actually understand that balance means a break only at certain intervals, not every other day, or every single weekend. At the same time, it would probably put one in an unhealthy position to never see any of one's friends while preparing, for the duration of several months.
