Oct or Dec
I took the LSAT last Dec 2009 and Feb 2009 and I applied to my schools. I was waitlist to a few and still have not heard from them. I eas accepted to one school but I do not want to go there. So i recently decided to retake the LSAT and get a tutor. It is now Jul and I'm wondering if I had time to study for the Oct test or if it would be best to wait for the Dec test?

Re: Oct or Dec
OP, please post LSAT scores, or range, and other personal stats: UGPA, softs, etc.
Also, what range of schools? Where were you accepted? What score do you want to get on the LSAT?

Re: Oct or Dec
I would shoot at DEC. A ten point jump is definitely possible, but unless you have a lot of free time now til OCT it may be too much work. Although, if you have to deal with finals in DEC, then I could see that being a problem as well.
LSP seems to suggest that a 158+ plus puts you in play for GM and Maryland, but a 161 makes a big difference. I would really consider putting extra time into LSAT prep if I could.
Are you applying this cycle? Do you have any other schools you are targeting?

Re: Oct or Dec
Thanks!
If i take the Dec LSAT I plan on apply in Oct/Nov and sent my scores when they come. I do not have any finals. I'm out of school and planned on starting law school in aug but it didnt work out that way. I live in the DMV and would like to stay local so i would like to apply to
George Washington
Maryland
Mason
American
Catholic
I would love to go to Geogetown but it depends on if my score increases enough.

Re: Oct or Dec
Put the work in prepwise and I think you have a shot at GT. You are lucky/smart to have a solid UGPA, even if LSAC knocks it down a bit, don't let the LSAT handicap you.
Good luck

Re: Oct or Dec
I also am in a similar situation. I took it last December but would like to increase my score about 10pts.
I do think that December test would give me more time to prep but would it hurt my chance applying instead of taking the October test to apply early?
THANKS
