HELP! ...Where do I go from here?
Here's my story:
This March I had a dismal diagnostic score of 146. I took a Princeton Review Ccass up until the June test and received a 158 on the June exam. This was somewhat dissapointing because I was averaging around 162-163ish before I took the exam ( Highest PT: 165). I did terrible on the games section and I know this is my weakest area (-8). My goal is to score atleast 166 in October. I want to be praticing in the low 170's before the actual exam.
I have taken all oft he latest PT's (50's) and most of those in the 40's and 30's. I have done many problems in my Princeton Review book from recent PT's as well. How would you all suggest I study for the next 3 months? Would you all advise doing the VERY old PT's? Also, would anyone advise re-taking PT's? I have heard good things about the power score bibles. Is that a good place to start?
Also, out of curiosity where do yall think I could I get in with my score now? I have a 3.9 and I am an AA male. I don't plan on the 158 being my score but I would kind of like to know where I stand as of right now. Also, with a 166 where do you think I could get into?
Thanks!

Not necessarily true. The general consensus is that being an URM gives you a 5 point boost or so, roughly. How your buddies went to those schools with those numbers is beyond me. There mustve been something else in their applications that set them apart because getting into Penn with a 153 just doesnt sound right. Also, LSN isnt entirely accurate. People misrepresent their data and a lot of people create fake profiles just to be idiots.ta06fsu wrote:With the 158 and being an AA male you are an excellent candiate for the t10-14 range. I say this based on experience and lawschoolnumbers.com. Got a buddy that just graduated from Penn Law 153/3.7. Got a buddy who is a rising 2L at UMich 157/3.4. And me, most likely going to be accepted at Duke Law for fall of 2011(look at my past posts for details), mid 150's/3.7. Another buddy in at Cornell 155/3.9. Make sure your PS and LOR's are half decent and youll have no problem. Of, course strive for 160's for scholly money. Hope this helps and good luck.
With a 3.9/158 Id say Black and gifted has an outside chance at some of the lower T14. To have a good shot, plus money, he would need about a 163 or above.
In any case a 158 isnt bad at all and depending on where you want to go Black you could get a full ride at some good schools.
Good Luck!

3.9/158 and AA will absolutely get you in at everything below the top 6.gdane5 wrote: With a 3.9/158 Id say Black and gifted has an outside chance at some of the lower T14. To have a good shot, plus money, he would need about a 163 or above.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was un aware that the URM boost could potentially be THAT significant. Of course, I will not rely solely on my race but it is kind of nice to know. I asked 2 completely un-related questions. Apparently, my second was more intersting but....
Does anyone have any advice about my first question: how should I prep in these next 3 months?

It's not so much that the second question was "more interesting", as much as the first is a really long and complicated answer that nobody agrees on and you can just scan the 1923874298357 threads talking about formulating a plan for october.yngblkgifted wrote:Thanks for the replies guys.
