Oh okay. Yea, I was pretty disappointed with my first score...not terrible, but not where I need to be for scholarship money...but I crammed into 2 months of studying while working full-time and only did a few practice tests, so I'm hoping to do about 15 practice tests from 40-59 this time, I would think that would help me improve....worse would not be ideal or good for my self-esteem haha....

My guess would be most people improve.

The first time, I went in on the strength of my natural abilities (huge error).

The second time, I studied.

More studying plus increased familiarity with actual test day conditions = 11 pt increase. I know everyone's different but I get a little extra adrenaline I use to battle fatigue (as opposed to becoming anxious) on test day and ended up tying my best PT score. Good luck!

Thanks for your input. I definitley will be stringently timing myself on practice tests this time around....I was not ready for the time constraints in June as I was really relaxed during my study regarding that...did most of the practice tests i took sporadically throughout the workday at my desk when I had downtime. big mistake.

Wow these are nice responses haha yeah I took a lot of PTs but I think my weakness was not understanding the core principles of each section enough. I read the Bibles but I don't think I REALLY understood it. I am taking the Blueprint Movie course this time and hoping for about a 10 point increase.

If it's any consolation... I took a full on Kaplan Extreme course, did both the LG and LR Bibles, and still felt like I had no idea what was going on in LG sections. Ended up being my best section on test day. I was like Rainman with the toothpicks...

I had the right answer, but I was never sure I knew why!

Just to let you know that you can still do well on a section or discipline, even without being completely comfortable with it.

I went from 173 to 180. However, I took it the second time after having taught a course for a few years. The first time I prepped with the LG bible and LR bible and took a ton of practice tests. (basically what I did for the first time I took it sounded, more or less, like pityhpike's method).

ahh fuck it ive already dropped 2500 for a private tutor. Ill just use him once or twice during my retake studying. He told me to study 6-8 weeks max for my retake. So I am not going to start until the first week in aug.

Yeah the Blueprint Course is 42 hours of video and then about 84 hours homework/study I am starting soon and hoping to be done by end of August/early Sept.

7 point over my first test. I should have scored it the first time. I would say the single biggest reason for underperforming is unfamiliarity and nerves. As much as you try to emulate test day when you practice, it never quite cuts it. The first test I walked out frazzled, hopeful that I did well but I honestly had no idea. But the second time I took the test, I was definitely prepared. I walked out of the test knowing exactly how many I missed and guessed my score correctly. It's all about composure, and the second time you will do better.

mine went up one point from a 169 to 170...i def thought it was more stressful the second time bc i really didn't want it to go down lol

Same thing for me pretty much. Went +9, and just completely misread a rule on an easy puzzle the first time and ran out of time on the hard puzzle after trying to rework it.
