Dec 2010 LSAT Prep

Post by blackmamba76 » Sat Jun 26, 2010 5:43 pm

I know the site has been run over with the June test results and those retaking in October, and those taking it for the 1st time in October. But what about those with their sights on the December test primarily, like me? What are the December test takers doing to prepare themselves? I'm graduating from a state school end of July and would start preparing to take the test in December thereafter, this will be my second time 'cause I took the Feb test and didn't do as well as I should, basically because I was carrying a 21 hour credit load so that I would graduate this summer, which I am. Now, what would the wise minds on TLS advice to help me break 170 come December? I would like to take the Oct test, but I want to give myself ample time to properly prepare so that I can blast the T30 schools with applications end of December. So, for the December testers, what are you doing to prepare at this point?

I'm guessing I'm the only one on here taking the Dec test then. Oh well.

so far i have just worked through the LRB and made flashcards...and I'm just starting to get going in the LGB. i've taken about 2 practice tests just because curiousity got the best of me.

i would advise definitely working through both the LRB and LGB thoroughly first, making flashcards, etc. then skim through them frequently to stay refreshed while you begin taking tests or at least specific sections of tests at first. be sure to review all missed questions and find out why they were wrong. you may also want to cut out the missed questions to have them to review. time isn't important in the beginning, either.

Thanks for the insight. I just ordered the 1st '10 Actual' book, and I also got the PowerScore Logic games Bible, and Princeton Review LSAT Logic Games Workout. I'll start with those I guess and when I have some extra funds I'll get the other 'Actual' books. Oh, and I also have the Official LSAT superprep.

I'd be careful about using the PR Logic Games Workout book.

It will expose you to several recent Logic Games, which can artificially increase your practice test scores later in your prep.

(It should be noted that this is *in no way* at all a comment or reflection on the PR strategies, courses, or instructors, etc. The PR course uses only real LSAT questions.)

ill be taking in dec. just took the june test and got a 155. i took it practically blind (only did two PTs before taking the real thing). didnt prep much because i was in europe for the spring semester and it kept me thoroughly distracted. cant take the oct. because of a football game so dec is my last chance.

i did find my weakness on the june test missing 16 of the 23 logic game questions(like i said i went in almost blind and i panicked on top of that). so what did i do yesterday??? ordered the lgb. from what ive read on tls and other websites its the way to go and if i can get my lg as good as my rc and lr and improve on them slightly i think i can get in the mid-upper 160s.

i plan on studying hard for the remainder of the summer and then once school hits and football practice gets going ill be strapped for time so my plan is to learn the info over the summer, keep in practice/learn what i can and try to hit up as many PTs as i can during football season, and then once football is over drown in lsat prep.
