LSAT Score Band Forum

According to my LSAC report my LSAT score band is 166-172. I'm guessing this means that in any given administration of the test I could get a score between 166 and 172. My question is, what does this mean to law schools?

What's the point of it then? Why even report it if it means nothing? There's gotta be a reason as to why it is included in the report, no?
