Why is PT59 on a -14 curve?
I just took PT59, and my raw score is pretty much the same as any other god damn PT. What aspect of PT59 do you guys think made the curve so generous?
Also, how likely is it that we'd encounter another "dino" LG? That killed me.

Good Question. My guess is that the LR is a bit more difficult all around and there isn't an RC passage that is a gimme where you can make up time or bank answers. My raw score when I took it was within a point or two of my other PTs at that time but it was nice to see the scaled score when it happened. The other thing to consider is that out of all the disclosed testing dates December traditionally has a slightly more forgiving curve.

Yeah people say the RC was brutal but this test overall was my best PT....

I would have killed to have this as my test. I think it was perhaps harder than average because it had 3 in/out games, which gives people problems until they reach about the 165-level (in my experience teaching/tutoring). Also, the reading comp was fairly hard, nothing super difficult, but harder than average I think.

Same. I would have loved to have the December as my real test. Wish I took it. I actually thought Sept 09 was harder. but it's different for everyone, I think based on strengths/weaknesses. I happen to like games and I actually thought the RC wasn't too bad.

This test was pretty hard. September '09 was ridiculously easy. The RC really wasn't that bad. The games were a breeze. LR wasn't bad either.

I've heard this a lot. Personally, I thought this June had a hard RC section. For me, esp, who had the RC LR LG LR RC test, having the real RC last after burning adrenaline for 3 hours was really tough for focus, so maybe it wasn't actually that hard and I was just beat up. Normally, RC is my strongest section, but I was definitely burnt out for this one, so we'll see.suspicious android wrote:I would have killed to have this as my test.
