LSAT Score Release TIMES?

Post by balzern » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:28 pm

Does anyone have any info on the times that previous LSAT scores were released?

I received my September 09 score at 10 p.m. the Friday before the release date, although folks on TLS were receiving them as early as 1 p.m. pacific time. It was a long night!

Got my Dec 09 score at around 7AM PST or so? I woke up to go to work and I saw my blackberry light was blinking and I checked. Ruined my day

Does the time varry according to time zone starting east and moving west?? Or what is the methodology?

There did not seem to be a method to the madness. Folks in California were getting theirs and some in Washington, (where I am) but others not. I just talked to someone who took the same Sept 09 test that I did and she got her score in Michigan the same time I got mine in Washington. Her last name starts with A and my last name starts with S... seems to be no rhyme or reason.

Some have speculated that they are released by score--like... the lower the score, the earlier you get your email.

I waited 3 hours after the first person reported receiving his score in December. Let's just say that my score was lower than the first reported.

Maybe they release them based on what test form you had...

I think they use their LSAC powers to read everyone's minds, find out who is stressing the most, and inversely distribute the scores that way. They have brain scanners. For sure.

Sadly, there's no specific time of day. LSAC's system probably can't handle sending approx 30,000-60,000 emails simultaneously, so that's why I think they're sent in seemingly-random batches throughout the day on which scores are released. I'm ballparking something along the lines of from 10AM-10PM Eastern as the most likely score release times just based on what I've seen in the past.

It seems most likely to me that the batches are based on one's LSAC Account Number (if there's any method to the batching at all).

***

A more fair system would be one in which scores are released based upon the number of posts one has on TLS. The higher your post count, the sooner you get your score.

Lurkers get their scores next.

People who don't frequently visit TLS (as if anyone like that actually existed) get their scores last.

I received my Sept 09' test score at 11:59 PM, I received my December 09' test score at 7:30 AM... you cannot plan the time, its like the rapture, one minute your here, next minute you're either in heaven or hell.

when does everyone think the scores will be released ?
The past two years they've come out on Thursday (4 days before the scheduled release.) I think they'll come out then; they may come out Friday, but in my opinion that would be the absolute latest.

This is when they've been released over the past few years. Data is from LSAT Blog, and I made the chart:

If they go back to releasing on saturday, I may have to march up to Newtown and kick some ass. And then dump mulch on them.
