How are you going to check your score?
I've been debating as to how I am going to break the news to myself...Obviously I'll get the e-mail with my score and hence know that scores are in, but I don't foresee myself actually opening the e-mail. I figure more likely I will go to LSAC and look at my answer sheet and the test, or maybe the scale first and see what the curve is, then the answer sheet. Or maybe...I don't know. I want to break the news to myself slowly. Not that I think I did bad, I just kinda don't know. I don't remember a ton from the test other than the games which I felt pretty good about.

I didn't take the test in June, but I'm going to open mine Rudy style. Sunset at a park bench all by myself. Then cry like a baby.
Yep.

Re: How are you going to check your score?
As soon as you log into LSAC and go to the page where the disclosed info is, you will see your score. So in order to go through it the way you have envisioned, you will have to cover the page with a piece of paper and navigate to the links without revealing the score. I genuinely do not know how anyone can have this much will power...
Honestly, its been 3 effin weeks. My blackberry is gonna vibrate, I'm going to see the email from LSAC in my inbox and my heart is going to sink. I am then going to open the link and take a look.

Re: How are you going to check your score?
when i get the email notification from my blackberry i'm going to go to my lap top, then lock myself in my closet, and take a moment for myself. Then, i'm going to look at the score. My worst case scenario is that I am at work when the scores come in, or on the road.
Maybe I should leave my blackberry at home on Friday.....
i'm starting to panic a little

Good point. I forgot about that. Shit. Maybe I will just open the e-mail then.a11 1n wrote:As soon as you log into LSAC and go to the page where the disclosed info is, you will see your score. I definitely don't have the willpower to leave the blackberry at home. Undoubtedly, I'll see see the message icon and open it immediately. I just hope it isnt a terrible score that ruins the rest of my day after I open it.psteele99 wrote:when i get the email notification from my blackberry i'm going to go to my lap top, then lock myself in my closet, and take a moment for myself. If I see on TLS or hear from someone else that scores are out and I haven't gotten an email yet I'll go to the LSAC site and check my score. Otherwise, I'll just see the email.

Re: How are you going to check your score?
When the time comes, check online. Then lock myself in the bathroom and cry like a baby (happy cry if >=173, depressed cry if <173). Then go to a bar and get drunk off my ass (celebratory-and a round for my friends on me-if >=173, depressed drunk if <173).
If my score went up 1 point for every 5 minutes I dragged on breaking the score to myself, I'd take my damn sweet time (5 hours=300/5=60 points lol). But it won't so what's the point.

I set up Gmail so that any email from LSAC containing numbers 170-180 will be marked with a big, gold star of achievement (!). If there's an email from LSAC without a star, I'm not going to open it until I pour myself a drink... or 160-something.

what i did last year was cover the screen with a piece of paper. then take that piece and slide it to the left. You get to see the ones digit first.
adds to the suspense.
I did something similar when my grades came out. I took a piece of paper and went down the line.
Very exciting!

Re: How are you going to check your score?
Depends.
I think a rather stiff drink is in order, but that would have to be nixed for Friday morning (not because it's morning, but because I teach in the morning). In fact I think I better not check my email Friday morning.
The LSAT drinking game sounds good. I'm afraid I may die before I get my score.

I'll probably see it on my LSAC account first since I've been checking that obsessively

I'm going on the website. I just check this forum to see if people hae gone berserk yet. If I realize the scores have been released, I'm going straight to the LSAC website. I'll pray desperately for a 170 and see my score. And then I will proceed to find some Windex to inject into my system.

I set the email to be tagged with increasing scores corresponding to the various multi-kills in Halo, basically cause I'm the coolest kid around. If it's below what I want its just tagged "oh well". I hope I'm a Killionaire!

As a fellow Halo player/nerd, that's actually pretty cool. Except instead of "Oh well" I would have put nub instead.OrdinarilySkilled wrote:I set the email to be tagged with increasing scores corresponding to the various multi-kills in Halo, basically cause I'm the coolest kid around. Re: How are you going to check your score?
Go to settings (upper right hand corner) -> Filters -> Create a New Filter -> Put "170" in the "has the words" box -> Hit next -> Check the "Star It" box -> Click "create filter" -> repeat process with other numbers
I wasn't sure if I could put "170 OR 171 OR 172" etc. in the filter box so I just did one for each score.

This works also, just have to make sure OR is capitalized.Bildungsroman wrote: I wasn't sure if I could put "170 OR 171 OR 172" etc. in the filter box so I just did one for each score.

Re: How are you going to check your score?
But what if one of those numbers turn out to be included in all of the e-mails? Like:
"Please call 1)800-174-1780" <- but I know that neither the LSAC phone numbers nor the zipcode are in reasonable LSAT range, ha.
"Over 172,000 students have taken the test in your state."
"Please proceed to the LSAC website in 173 seconds or the scores will dissipate into thin air."
"You might think you got a 179 but you actually got a 152 lolz."
