June test-takers in NYC, what was your testing location?

Post by sgtgrumbles » Thu Jun 17, 2010 3:35 pm

And how was it? I'm hoping to pick a good one for the October test. No construction, lots of space, etc. How was the experience?

This can, of course, serve as a venting thread if you have any horror stories.

Thanks in advance.

FYI, several of the test sites already filled up a few weeks ago.

Queens College is a good location if it's not filled up yet!

Queens College, EXCELLENT. Large tables, excellent light, large, spread out room, coffee shop on lower level for espresso.

Note, on my second round they bumped us from Queens College to St. Johns College.

St. Johns College = AVOID at all costs, no light, banging pipes, tiny desks. Everyone in the room was PISSED.

I've had multiple students take the test at CSI and Rutgers in Newark and those seem to be two of the best, so something to consider if they're conveniently located for you.

Pace is fairly consistently good, not great. Metropolitan Pavilion also comes generally recommended.

Took it at Fordham. Actual facility was great, proctor knew what she was doing, but they were rather disorganized (they accidently overbooked and had to send us to a different building, and double-booked the actual room we were in). I wouldn't not-recommend them, though. I'm considering them if I retake in Oct.

I'm in Brooklyn (Clinton Hill). I'd like to take it somewhere in the borough or in downtown Manhattan. If I'm waking up very early already I don't want to have to travel far.
