I'm starting to prepare for LSAT and would like to know when to take LSAT.


1. Register for LSAT. Practice and take LSAT.

2. Practice. Register for LAST if PTing in target/satisfying range.


Which way do you think is better? How did you do?

Way #1 is better because test centers get booked up early (especially for the Sep/Oct exam, the most popular of the 4 each year).

You don't want to have to travel to a faraway or inconvenient test center.

You also don't want to have to take the LSAT at a test center with small desks, poor lighting, etc.

You can always postpone your test date (LSAC calls it a test date change) anytime up until approx 3 weeks before the test date. There is a fee to change it, but it's worth not having to travel far or take your test at a bad test center.

LSAT Blog is completely right. Just give yourself enough time (3-4 months) to prep. I'd stick with 4 months. And choose a test center with good reviews/big desks/nice proctors/quiet.

I recommend using a pencil. A pen didn't work out for me.
