Really tempted to take the lsat tomorrow
I started studying for June retake in march(157 sep 09). Got derailed by work stuff and only really took about 5 or 6 PTs and basically stopped studying due to that, averaging around 164 with -10 on LG.
Last PT I took was Dec 2001 about a month ago (36 I think?) - I got a 168 , missing 5 on LR-LR-RC combined but 9 on LG. Since then i feel i've improved on LG, but the danger of missing 10 on an LG section still remains....
Tell me not to take the test tomorrow and that I'm crazy for even thinking about it and that with taking the 20+ PTs I have left for October I will be ready to kick ass then.

Take the test tomorrow IMO. It looks better than an Absent? If you're pleasantly surprised, then you can get apply at the front end of the cycle. If not, you can always retake. Schools no longer average test scores so there's very little disadvantage in multiple tries.

LOL so wrong. Yes taking three times is worse than twice, yes schools still care if you're a re-taker, and OP is clearly not ready for this exam.JOThompson wrote:Take the test tomorrow IMO. It really depends on what score you want/need to have a good shot at the schools you're applying to. 160-165? Go for it. 170+? Wait til October.
I agree with IAFG.. Taking the LSAT three times will not look good on your application, regardless of the school's official policy. Do not take it tomorrow if you don't feel like you can get the score you want. Feeling unprepared will stress you out even more, and will probably make you score lower than you are capable of scoring right now.

Take it and cancel if you feel bad about your performance. I took the test 3x and got into some great schools. All they care about is your highest score.

Adcomms do certainly realize that the LSAT can be like throwing darts at a board. However, the highest score is what ultimately counts.

if you're averaging -10 on LG, you're not even close to being ready. don't take it. you will get pwnd, and it will be demoralizing.

Re: Really tempted to take the lsat tomorrow
would there be any disadvantage of taking it oct+dec(if needed) rather than tomorrow+october ?
What if tomorrows games are easy?!?! I took a recent LG section right after my 168 and only missed 4! Ahhhhh
I might go crazy if I have to putoff the LSAT again. But I am definitely taking all of august and september to prep for October.

Re: Really tempted to take the lsat tomorrow
imo, just take the october test. you'll still be able to apply early in the 2010-11 cycle if that's your goal, plus you have much more time to prepare. also, you'd still have the december test if you needed another do-over.
a few months could make a huge difference, especially since games are giving you trouble -- practice makes perfect on that front. you may luck out with tomorrow's exam, but why risk it?

idk... I don't think anyone is ready for LG unless they're getting -0 with time to spare.Sandro777 wrote:would there be any disadvantage of taking it oct+dec(if needed) rather than tomorrow+october ?

Sounds like you are already planning to take the LSAT again, so why the "If"?Sandro777 wrote: I might go crazy if I have to putoff the LSAT again. But I am definitely taking all of august and september to prep for October.
If you don't feel prepared, and are going to re-take anyway with a substantial amount of additional preparation, I really can't see a point in taking it on Monday.
