construction site next to the LSAT exam room, help!
just came back from the test site. a construction site is literally 10 feet away from the exam room. called LSAC, they said they could not do anything but i can file a complaint AFTER the exam. too late to change site. wonder what i should do? just go to another site and try stand-by or try to get used to construction noise in the next few days?
advice highly appreciated! i'm really worried now.

I am being 100% serious wear a really really good pair of ear plugs. It may also help you to be more focused. Just be aware when you have 5 min left.mz253 wrote:just came back from the test site. a construction site is literally 10 feet away from the exam room. called LSAC, they said they could not do anything but i can file a complaint AFTER the exam. too late to change site. wonder what i should do? just go to another site and try stand-by or try to get used to construction noise in the next few days?

is it doable though? i always do my PT in the library (with a printer closer to me) and many people will typing in computer around me. but construction site would be much louder, isn't it? are we ALLOWED to use ear plug or something?

Ignore it. When I was preparing for the LSAT, I studied in a variety of different places so I would be used to distractions on test day. Too late for you now, so man up!

Have you ever hear of the LSAT before? I'm pretty sure the first time you utter the word LSAC sends a satellite message to your brain telling you that earplugs aren't allowed.stintez wrote:I am being 100% serious wear a really really good pair of ear plugs. Sorry to hear about your situation. Going on standby at another test center is a gamble, BUT due to the earlier test date change (postponement) deadline, it's likely that many people who were registered for any test site will take an absence, opening up seats.
(Assuming LSAC doesn't overbook - it seems pretty likely they wouldn't overbook, though.)
Unfortunately, earplugs are prohibited (under "Items Prohibited at the Test Center"):

prepare for it in the next couple of days mentally, do some sections with speed metal on, but don't forget that the test site is aware of it and might have made arrangements.mz253 wrote:just came back from the test site. a construction site is literally 10 feet away from the exam room. called LSAC, they said they could not do anything but i can file a complaint AFTER the exam. too late to change site. wonder what i should do? just go to another site and try stand-by or try to get used to construction noise in the next few days?

well, this is what the woman said (admissions officer).
well, the construction would be going on. i heard some sites have marching bands. this is just a minor noise issue.
OMG. lately i've been thinking about money a lot. my parents are going to waste over 150,000 to send me to some schools that they've never heard of. that makes me sad!

Most campuses do construction and maintenance over the summer so I think construction is probably more the rule than the exception for the June test.budafied wrote:oh ok. Is it possible that construction will not be in progress during the administration of the test? And, regarding the poster that suggested wearing earplugs, I'm pretty sure they're not allowed.

Re: construction site next to the LSAT exam room, help!
no. i'm surprised that LSAC is so unfair in terms of test conditions. GRE is much better. everyone gets the same type of computers and same cubic room yet GRE is not that important indicator of admissions. last time, my desk size was literally smaller than my test book and i have nowhere to put my answer sheet...

maybe they're teamsters, you could give the foreman $50 or the equivalent in Natty Light to skip work.

What makes ME sad is little bitches whining about Mommy and Daddy paying for your law school. If your parents are throwing down 150K for you to go to a no-name school, they're idiots.mz253 wrote:well, this is what the woman said (admissions officer).

All things being equal, I'd take dumb but rich parents over poor but smart ones.shoop wrote:What makes ME sad is little bitches whining about Mommy and Daddy paying for your law school. i'm not bitching about it... honestly, i worked 20 hours per week in college and grad school to pay for my own expense. also, i don't want to apologize that my parents are willing to help me with my tuition.shoop wrote:What makes ME sad is little bitches whining about Mommy and Daddy paying for your law school.
