FT Summer Internship + LSAT studying possible?

Post by madlsatter » Thu May 20, 2010 8:34 pm

So, I have looked over a few old threads about FT work and LSAT studying, but am still unsure about what I should do.

Originally, my plan was to take the June LSAT and would have the time and peace of mind to pursue a FT internship for the summer. However, I postponed June to October but still obtained an internship. I'm offered a FT internship in Culver City in California, and would be commuting from the San Gabriel Valley (about 25 mi, and 2 hrs traffic each way). Work would start at 8am and end at 4pm. That's leaving home by 6am and getting back around 6-7pm. I don't think I'll have much time/energy to study (not to mention limited time to do full PTs) in order to have time to sleep, shower, and eat.

I can only think of doing full PTs on the weekend which isn't appealing because I'd like to spend time with my family. However, it's something I've come to terms with but even then, that's only 1-2 PTs a week.

I'm pretty torn up - this is a paid internship ($14/hr) and would be a good opportunity to get myself serious about work again. This is after 3 years of taking the bare minimum each quarter to be considered a full-time student.

Any words of advice would be appreciated-

Might be a little late. But im currently in a FT internship and still studying. I work during the day, study in the evening (my SO is taking summer classes so we both sit and study for stuff together), and then do the longer prep during the weekends.

Granted, I might have more time if I wasnt working I still wouldnt have passed up a FT work experience.

Just my .02 cents
