PT 48 Sec 3 Q 3

Post by Saltqjibo » Wed May 19, 2010 7:33 pm

I don't get the answer to this question. If this was a logical reasoning question selecting E would seem like a common fallacy. The author never directly links ceremonies with granting magical powers over animals, he merely mentions it immediately after. How do we know that the ceremonies are not meant to promote fertility which is also mentioned immediately before? (and could not really be characterized as 'granting power over'). I think that A is a better choice as while the author never states it explicitly, he does present the argument as reasonable during the course of building his own.

Why am I wrong? (help!)...
