Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Within the past 24 hours, I have gotten well wishes from Washburn, ONU and Charlotte School of Law. With such a tremendous amount of goodwill sent my way, how can I possibly do anything but ace the LSAT on D-day?

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
you guys get emails from law schools? whaaat? i must be unloved.
anyway, just finished the LG section from PT44...and got my best score ever: -1. i've been slowly improving in games the last 2-3 weeks, and i feel more and more confident.
i was hoping to get a 167+ with a -5 in LG, but if i can cut that down, it'll allow me more space to breathe in LR/RC.

Are you signed up for the Data assembly service? I think you have to to get the emails.

Did you know that Charlotte School of Law is the only law school in Charlotte? Astonishing!Cromartie wrote:Within the past 24 hours, I have gotten well wishes from Washburn, ONU and Charlotte School of Law

Weird, I wouldn't worry about it though- it's not like I've gotten an e-mail from a school I would like to go to. If billy mitchell or the U of M sent me something, then it would be a different story. But ONU doesn't particularly interest me.Lasers wrote:yeah i did. everything but my LSAT score and 1 letter of rec is in.minnbills wrote:Nice job!Lasers wrote:you guys get emails from law schools? whaaat? i must be unloved.

Debating taking yet another test tomorrow, against the advice of everybody to chill out for the final week.
I have 54 and 58 (as well as some 30s) left as full PTs - which one has the more challenging LR/RC? I'll take the difficult one so that I can say "oh well it was a difficult one" when I bomb it

I have been PTing in the 163-167 range and I just took #57 and scored a 158? Anyone else have significant trouble with this test, more specfically LR Section 3 and the RC Section 4.
Lets hope this is not consistent with test day scores!

but i did much better on the LR2 than LR1, which I somehow made stupid mistakes after another and got destroyed. All in all, I got a slightly lower score than my avg as well

You guys are funny about the emails from law school... I got one from Notre Dame (I took the LSAT in June, so they can see my score, but I'm retaking), and it was very clear that it was NOT a fee waiver...just a friendly hello...
gee thanks notre dame.
Berkeley sent me one too...just to say hi...wish it was like all the lower-ranked schools shouting fee waiver!

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
On my break from PT59. Thought the LG section wasn't too bad, although I had a brief WTF??? moment on Q10 (the one that asks which would have the same effect when substituted for one of the rules). The scheduling game was kind of tricky, but still doable.
But LR1??? Seriously????? There were a few questions where I was completely stuck between answer choices. Usually I could eliminate down to two, but then I just kind of sat there staring at the stimulus blankly. UGH. We'll see how I end up scoring.
Is 59 unusually hard? Especially the LR?? I really need to eliminate these "uhhhhhhhhhh" moments on the real thing. Can't afford to waste time just sitting there.

lol, i got one from yale an hour or so ago and it said specifically, "we requested your info from CRS, BECAUSE we're visiting your school," like as if they didn't want me to get the wrong idea and think that they really wanted me.
yea no shit yale, I already know that, thanks for the heads up though

PT 54. 170.
While I'm happy that I'm now 6/7 most recent PTs breaking 170, I'm teetering on the edge.
A single question may very well be the difference between an auto-admit ED to UVA & an auto reject.
Those 3 weeks are going to be so. Freaking. Nerve-wracking.

Took PT 57 today. -1 LR, -2 LG, -3 LR, and -6 RC. Scaled 169. This or a little higher would be excellent on game day.

58 games were easy (took it as the real thing). But 1 hard LR section.incompetentia wrote:Debating taking yet another test tomorrow, against the advice of everybody to chill out for the final week.

54 was easier (or better curved) - I say this only because I scored better on it a year ago..
Did the RC from PT 54 recently and it was slightly tough (missed 3/4).
Don't remember PT 58 RC

BRING ON PT 61!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
funny note: I had that song "I gotta feeling" by black eye peas stuck in my head as I was going a games section from pt 38... Managed -2 on that section, and -6 on the RC section... even though im not a black eye pea fan at all.. i think its a good omen
I guess I should download that song for my driving mix to the test center on saturday... Im thinking about the rocky theme, journey ( dont stop believing) and that song will have to be on it. ( its a 22 minute drive, so I need some more good inspirational songs) Anyone else have any good ideas for entrance music? Oh yes... this test is going down
Oh yes... the gauntles has been set... its on going to happen... the lsat is about to be blown away on test day.... I GOTTA FEELING!!!!!
PT 61 cannot contain me ( or anyone else on this thread)

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
If that's the direction you're thinking, you could always go all out and add Final Countdown (Europe) and Livin' on a Prayer (Bon Jovi), or something similar.
I tend to need calm-down music before a big event rather than psych-up...recent songs for me stuck in my head while testing and the last thing I need is something that might turn into an annoyance.
Since I left all my CDs at my relatives' the last time I went to visit them, I get to start from scratch on this mix. Kind of funny...I have very little calm-down music on my computer, something I didn't realize until this week.

If a Reading Comp passage says something like
Rise in automobile prices was due to J... (detail/explain/support)
On a what can be inferred question -- could I infer that the rise in price was not due to G, L, K (random things- anything else) if the passage says it was due to J?
Or could there also be other factors (other causes) so it CANT be inferred that it was not G, L , K?

Only if it specifically says that J is the only factor.JJDancer wrote:If an RC passage says something like

So, usually no.

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Took 56 today.....really stumbled on Section LR with a -6 so ended up with a 167.
How do people feel about that RC section? I found it to be much easier than usual, I haven't gotten to the RC passages in the late 50's but its sounding like they are much more difficult....
Could someone please explain #21 in Section 1 for me? Its the only one I got wrong in the LG section but I've tried doing hypotheticals but still think A is right as well.....maybe I am burned out for the day but it seems like A and E could be right.
