I'm looking for some advice for the September 2010 LSAT. I took the test last September, got a 161, and am now waitlisted at my first choice and another school. I wrote a LOCI for my first choice and am working on the other, but I'm kind of doubtful about getting in to either. So I'm thinking I'll probably be taking the LSAT next September.
Some history on my LSAT progress - I took free practice LSATs with Kaplan twice before taking the real one - one 2 years before (158), and one 1 year before (160). I then studied for the LSAT during summer 2009, using Powerscore's bibles and practice LSAT tests. I probably took one LSAT a week in addition to my Powerscore studying. The highest score I got was a 167. I also took Powerscore's weekend course the weekend before the LSAT.
From my LSAT results, I can see that stamina was a major issue for me - did really well on the first two sections, and then did really poorly on the last two, after the break. Obviously I need to work on that. I'd like to ultimately be at a 170 or higher, which I don't think is an impossible goal - with proper studying.
What do you guys recommend? A tutor? Courses? More self-study? I live in New York, about an hour away from NYC, and I'm not looking to drop $5,000 on LSAT prep. I was looking into courses, but I'm not sure whose would be best.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

I'm a newbie with LSAT's, and I will be taking the Fall LSAT's as you are (I believe they're on Oct. 9th). I have a couple of the LSAT Official PrepTests and will be buying the rest pretty soon. I plan on utilizing the PS Bibles, as well as a Princeton Review LSAT course during the weekends (July-Oct.). From what others have told me, taking a course along with your own studying is the best way to go, whether it is with PR or Testmasters. The PR course I'm signing up for is $1250. The more expensive classes are smaller study groups.

Right, this year they're October - guess I should have said October LSAT. I'm actually looking into the Testmaster's online course, since they don't have a course near me. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I've considered a classroom course, but I'm already in the 84th percentile and it's really frustrating to me when people need to go over questions that I already understand. Anyone used Testmasters?SoCalStudent wrote:I'm a newbie with LSAT's, and I will be taking the Fall LSAT's as you are (I believe they're on Oct. 9th). The real TestMasters doesn't have an online course. You're looking at the fraud Testmasters (testmasters.com) in Texas.
Wow, twice in one day on this board. I wonder how many students those pieces of trash trick every year.

Thanks for the heads-up. Found the real one (.net, right?) Nothing near me for October, unfortunately.JasonR wrote:The real TestMasters doesn't have an online course. You're looking at the fraud Testmasters (testmasters.com) in Texas.
