lots of good artists here already, but check out moritz van oswald trio. just got into them - pretty excellent. kinda of a mix of dub and jazz ish. austere enough to be good study music i think.

I took a PT before work, at 530 am, in a starbucks right next to the guy who screamed 'chai latte!' every seven seconds. I think I like -8ed an LR section. WORST DAY EVAR. Don't do this.shinton88 wrote:Eh, I still hold that your average Starbucks (where I live anyway) is several times more distracting than what you'll have on test day. But I also wouldn't listen to music. Maybe NPR on low volume or something.

I give my husband the side eye if he has the nerve to clink ice cubes together while he drinks water.
No music for me.
No music for me.

The problem is that no one at the test center will give a damn about your side eye. Better get used to a little noise.ilovelawtays wrote:I give my husband the side eye if he has the nerve to clink ice cubes together while he drinks water.

I don't study in a vacuum. Outside noise? Fine. Shuffling around? Fine? Clinking ice? That's straight up distracting, and unlikely to happen in a testing center.JazzOne wrote:The problem is that no one at the test center will give a damn about your side eye. And if there's construction or something else crazy going on, I definitely expect a room full of side eyes.

So instead of studying in SILENCE this time, I've been working in various situations.
Last week I took my Velocity LG book to my local sports bar and did games with wings, beer & Olympics in the background [uber-nerd]...proud to say my worst game was -1, with majority -0.
People better be chanting USA! USA! on October 6, or I'm screwed!

Anything by Joshua Redman or Bob Reynolds...though I mostly listen to jazz so it's more of a distraction =]
