So How Should I Plan My Studies For The Second Time?

Post by Madman » Mon Mar 08, 2010 1:03 am

So I wrote in Feb and got a very dissapointing 161. The test simply didn't play to my strengths and I psyched myself out. Dumb I know. I also think I burned myself out. I was PT'ing between 162-175. Average around 165/166. I have 6 untouched LSAT's available to me, I have seen every other LSAT PT published. I studied for approximately 6 months previous to Feb, but timing continued to be an issue for me right up until test day. I am just a very slow test writer. I need a 165 to get into most schools I would like.

Anyhow I want to write in September again ( I can't in June), so I have a few questions about how I should plan my studies?

1. When should I begin studying again for the Sept test? Should I keep doing games etc every weekend beginning now or not study still for another couple months?

2. How should I study? Should I just do full PT's over (I will have already seen them) or should I drill individual sections? What would be best.

3.How can I master my timing. On all sections I am still to slow, even with tonnes of practice and using all tips like first 15 in 15 min etc. I really don't know what to do to get faster.

Thanks for any advice.

Cheers

Only allow yourself 30 minutes per section on all the rest of the PTs

How many PT's have you done before the test?

I have done 24 full PT's and about 20 some tests worth of individual sections. I was doing really well and my scores were consistently going up, but when the new LR (after PT 48) came, my scores dropped badly (back down to 164 ish from 170).
