Will LSAT June 2010 have new type of questions?

Post by fedexmalcom » Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:06 am

Comparative reading was introduce in June 2007 LSAT. I am worried that
June 2010 may introduce some innovation. If anyone could share related
information, it shall be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

When big changes like that are implemented LSAC releases a notice far in advance (usually a cycle or two ahead). They will also send out several examples of what to expect and ultimately will allow students who are paying attention plenty of time to prepare.
So while things might change in the future it won't be a dramatic change any time soon and it certainly won't take anyone by surprise.

Sorry, but what's "comparative reading?" I haven't reached the latest PT's yet and have no idea what this means.

Thanks

starting June 07

one of the 4 regular-length passages is replaced by 2 shorter passages on a related topic. some Qs associated with these "dual passages" refer to only one short passage or the other. some Qs refer to both.

it's dual, not duel:

June of last year introduced the "swap a rule for an equivalent rule" question type. It's possible, however unlikely, that we'll see something else new this June. But the , we could see a new minor question type on any LSAT, really.

I was under the impression that the "swap a rule" was something that has been around for awhile. Of course, I have no proof (i.e. an old PT that has this rule), and furthermore I know that you Tom are a tutor/expert, so my case here is pretty weak. Anyone want to put me in my place or maybe find some evidence? ;)

first appearance of swap-a-rule was 57, and then it appeared on 58 and 59.

can someone tell us whether it appeared on Feb 10 also?

Questions did previously suspend a rule and add a new one, but I believe PT 57 was the first appearance of a question asking you to find a rule in the answer choices that would have an effect equivalent to one of the listed rules.

It did. And yes, as above, changing rules is nothing new, but finding equivalent rules is.
