Feb Make Up Test

Post by DannyBoy_07 » Sat Feb 20, 2010 4:26 pm

Aside from the frustration behind trying to figure out which RC was the experimental, what the hell was up with the old school LR format where one stimulus concerned 2 questions??

I hated that.

One of my proctors said that our exam would be hand scored. Did anyone else hear the same?

I have so many questions! Why would they do this? Is it because the magical scoring computer is configured for the exam administered two weeks ago? Does hand scoring allow them to process the exams more quickly? Will we receive our scores on Friday? I want to know!!!

Tanked the test. I hope it was the first one. The second one was the only one that I finished on time.

From what I've gathered, the real RC had Bach, some contract case and Native American women. I can't remember the other passage, but I remember going to the Bach passage feeling good. I really screwed up the Bach passage though, as it seemed many have. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I got -4 just on Bach.

All of the LR questions are a blur as to what section they were in, but I know I did better on the section with 25 questions. I froze at the 15-20 mark of the 26 question LR section and barely finished and definitely missed some toward the end.

LG was a joke. I'm just pissed that there were only 22 questions and not 24. The hats game was the most difficult, but wasn't hard by any means.

do you think the test was easy/hard compared to others? I am having a lot of trouble telling...it was all a blur basically. I really can't even remember the passages you are talking about.

If it makes you feel better, I took a nap and started dreaming LR questions that were not on the test .

I think it was pretty average. I did overall feel better about this one than I felt about September, but I've also been PT'ing at a 165-171 rather than 160-166 like I was in September and I feel like this basically went like a PT. The pessimistic side of me says I did the same as September (162), but even when I took December as a PT and left 6 LR's blank, I still got a 165 (left nothing blank on February, left one blank on September) and haven't gone below there since I started studying again. There was nothing super shocking other than the old-style LR (and I can't even classify that as "super shocking").

What RC's did you have keg? I'm going crazy trying to figure out which is the experimental and keep doubting myself.

You guys won't have the same curve as we do will you?
I think our test (the FEB 6 one) may have been more difficult.

They scale each test separately.

the one with the native american women passage was the real one.

i had RC/LG/LR/RC/LR and the one with the native american women and bach was my second RC one (the experimental is always one of the first 3)

Yeah, I figure they'll scale our test to how people have done in the past on those sections/tests. It seemed like a very different test than the Feb. 6th test. Who knows, though? The LR could have been harder even if LG was easier (I personally think RC is always comparable, so I tend to discount it; the only passage that killed my brain was fractals on PT57; I did not understand a word of it). Like I said, the LR was weird. Not necessarily hard, but definitely weird and I could see that affecting the scale to make it comparable to the Feb. 6th test.

Easy LG's does not equal an easy test (and hard LG's do not make a hard test). I'd say the toughness/easiness of the test relies more on LR than LG or RC.
