One of the best stouts in the world is brewed in Florida, and I even named it in that list. A quick look at who distributes in Florida shows that you guys get a lot of good stuff. Bells, Crooked Stave, Goose Island (for BCBS and variants), Hoppin Frog (has an excellent stout BORIS), Lagunitas, Stone, The Bruery, Prairie Artisan Ales (Prairie Bomb! is my favorite stout), and many others. You have to find the right beer store, and talk to the folks that work there. They should be able to point out some great options.

Huna doesn't count, due to availability. The thing is, I've seen 75% of those brands, and almost never their stouts, down here. Maybe its more a Miami thing, but central and north Florida don't see them. For the purpose of stating it, I work at a grocery store widely lauded for its beer selection.

Tangentially, a guy a work with who consults for brewers around here pulled a 176 some years back.

Fair point about Huna. I recently got to try it at a bottle share. It was excellent.

That's shitty about not seeing many stouts. I'm with you, though, in that I prefer a good stout over any other style.
