Re: June 2016 - Waiter's Thread (+170 or bust)
So I just called... she said it might be an issue, but to wait until the scores come out and compare my answers with the actual answers and see if I need to have it hand scored. It's $100 to have it hand scored. Jesus, why didn't I think that would be an issue? Ughhh this just keeps getting worseTheMikey wrote:I thought hand scoring was like $100? But pretzel and carasrook, definitely call up LSAC and see if it's a problem.Smallville wrote:call LSAC and ask, it might but maybe not... but you can request hand-grading but its an extra $40 I think and would prob delay score slightlypretzeltime wrote:Oh wait here's another LSAT related question for y'all.
So due to the proctor timing mess, I left a few circles around numbers in my scantron. Normally I erase but did not have time. The circles do NOT touch the answer choice bubbles.
Think I'm in the clear, or am I fucked? There are some past threads on this but they don't seem conclusive
Yay for belated LSAT panic attacks.
ETA: I guess they might just have to review by hand? Or do scantrons not pick such stuff up?
But I don't know HOW I'll know if it's an issue considering I don't remember which numbers I circled, any ideas?

They scan your scantron so you can see it online and thus know which you circled.
I'm going to try to tack this issue onto my test center complaint. Sigh
It'll probably be fine. But cue panic blackout anyway.

I don't have a test center excuse, haha, but godddddddddd I feel like I prepared so heavily for this for MONTHS and my biggest issues are just stupid mistakes. If the scantron thing is an issue when you see your score, paperwork, etc. then it may be worth it to get it hand scored. But of course only if you see an issue with the ones you circled. Hopefully it all turns out okay though.carasrook wrote: I don't have a test center excuse, haha, but godddddddddd I feel like I prepared so heavily for this for MONTHS and my biggest issues are just stupid mistakes. Haha I just did a bit of looking around about how scantrons work and it looks like, provided they use relatively modern machines, you'll be fine. I don't see how circling numbers could confuse a machine that looks for dark marks on the lettered columns.pretzeltime wrote:Ugh yeah I called and she said the same thing.carasrook wrote:So I just called... she said it might be an issue, but to wait until the scores come out and compare my answers with the actual answers and see if I need to have it hand scored. Re: June 2016 - Waiter's Thread (+170 or bust)
Well worst case scenario is that your score does indeed get fucked up. Idk if you're familiar with what you get from LSAC when scores are released but they provide the answer sheet you bubbled so you'd be able to see if any numbers you circled were marked wrong when it's actually the right answer bubbled. If this is the case then you'll have to sink the $100 or however much it is and get your test properly scored by hand. So at the end of the day you'll still get the score you're supposed to get. Although $100 isn't anything to scoff at, in the grand scheme of things it's a drop in the bucket. Nothing to worry over.carasrook wrote:this has been a legitimately emotionally traumatizing experience

I'm sure everything will turn out fine for you and pretzel. Like forum_user said, worst case scenario is that you will have to pay for it to be hand scored.carasrook wrote:this has been a legitimately emotionally traumatizing experience
