Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
I'm wondering the same thing? Honestly, like I said the combo of all three has been a big deal for me, but the weight loss and definition probably started really coming off when I changed my eating...which is what I was originally asking pnj ab...now, I go to a boxing style gym where I don't always lift heavy things, but I hit heavy things and kick heavy things and lift small things and do other short bursts of cardio in the circuit trainingThe Abyss wrote:Are you referring to cardio and lifting here? I agree if that's the case. Lifting right will provide a sufficient amount of cardio.ilikebaseball wrote: they don't have to be exclusive. And if they are, even though you have different goals, you're lifting wrong.

Edit out links pls. I drink a lot of water but is bloating that extreme? I'm not super gassy or constipated (I get my recommended veggies).gamerish wrote:You're bloating, which could very well be from the excess protein (and if it's whey protein the odds are very good that it is). Sodium as well if you're taking in a lot of that.PeanutsNJam wrote:I took some pics to demonstrate the issue at hand. Like it's a serious problem you'll see. So I'm 6'1'' 78kg, y'all can go back to see my lifts. These are all taken within seconds of each other.
PQ
wtf?
How much water are you drinking?

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
FWIW, your abs are not as big as they could be. Especially lower. These could be helped with shin touches, normal crunches, leg lifts, frog pulls, scissor kicks, or other things of that nature. But at the end of the day, you should be lifting for conditioning purposes. You also appear to be a bit bloated, which has to do with your diet. Protein isn't as important to you right now as flat out burning calories is. Leg day is the #1 best way to condition, because nothing burns more calories than leg exercises, the foundation of your body. Build from the ground up dude.PeanutsNJam wrote:I took some pics to demonstrate the issue at hand. Like it's a serious problem you'll see. So I'm 6'1'' 78kg, y'all can go back to see my lifts. Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
Y'all homeboys need to stop PQ. Yeah I don't work my abs often if at all. My goal is 80kg at ~12% bodyfat, and I'm currently 78kg at what I'd guess is closer to 16-17% bodyfat. That means I have a lot more weight to put on, which is why I'm hesitant to start cutting.ilikebaseball wrote:FWIW, your abs are not as big as they could be. Especially lower. The problem with crossfit is how different your experience can be from box to box.schmelling wrote:just do not go to a crossfit box. I'm sure there are great ones where the instructors really know their stuff, but I've been to several and haven't found one. I have an old injury from when I was a kid and most of them suggested doing all sorts of stretches and exercises that I KNOW are horrible advice that would only make me susceptible to re-injuring myself. They also all advocated terrible deadlift form and completing more reps quickly at the expense of good form in many exercises. I want crossfit to fall out of fashion so badly it hurts.justabitunusual wrote:

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
I go to a place called 9Round, it's the only one in my state, but they have them other places. I was at the Ymca before that doing les mills type classes for almost 2 years, so I was familiar with many of the proper forms of doing things, but I still think ppl need to be careful in any type of boxing thing bc the susceptibility to be injured is higher...but luckily our trainers are very much about safety and not pushing ppl further than they can go without injury (as far as I've seen anyway), I have had a few injuries and they recommend modifications or rest.schmelling wrote:just do not go to a crossfit box. IDK my pee is generally only slightly tinted yellow so I figured I'm getting enough water. Some days I just pee water.

I think some of you have probably seen it, and it is pretty corny, but it is as good an ab session as I have found anywhere.

Re: FEBRUARY 2015 WAITERS' CIRCUS
I wouldn't doubt that, but that's no different than most gyms across the country. Go into any gym and you'll see people not getting low enough in a squat or using a smith machine (seriously these things are turrible), etc. Doesn't excuse crossfit, though. Especially with how much they charge.schmelling wrote:seeing the number of people with horrible form at the crossfit games has made me doubt that quality trainers are in the majority at crossfit. The Abyss wrote:The problem with crossfit is how variable your experience can be from box to box.schmelling wrote:just do not go to a crossfit box.
