I don't notate reading comprehension passages, and I feel it helps me.
Does anyone else feel the same?

I only notate when I'm reviewing a passage I drilled or a passage I did during PrepTests. For example, I circle words that I got stumped on but were crucial in answering a question.

But also don't use "I don't have prospects" as an excuse. Most jobs don't give zero fucks as to what your degree is in. All that matters is that you have one. The only advantage to WE is easier interviews (more to talk about) and a tiny supposed boost after LS. But I honestly think it doesn't matter as much if you're going to a top school. Plus it really depends on career prospects.

I do think some schools do look favorably on work experience though, like Northwestern. Added bonus: once you work in a law firm (which I recommend), you understand what the day to day of being a lawyer really is like and you kind of get a feel for whether or not its right for you. Some of my friends (would-be-law students) totally changed their minds about law school once thrown into the legal industry.
nlee, I already started PTing. I'm shooting for at least once on the weekends and timed sections during the week. My biggest obstacle is time so I'm really trying to focus on that.

Dirigo, this is your life and your career. You would regret it for the rest of your life if you settled for a score that didn't reflect your maximum potential! I understand your situation. I've been studying for forever and I've gotten all of the same questions from my family and friends.
Basically, I just relay the fact that if I score even a few points higher, that could equate to tens of thousands of dollars more in scholarships. So am I wasting time putting in 6 months to a year of studying for the LSAT, when I could get a FREE ride from my backup school? Hell no. I'm making 150ks worth of scholarship money.

This. This was how I knew law school is the right decision for me.mist4bison wrote:Luckily, I actually still want to do it haha.

"Tons of students go K-JD"
That is true (if you define ton = some). But the MAJORITY (i.e. less than 50 percent) don't. Just do look at the class profiles at YHS CCN and the rest of the T14, and you'll see that at least 60 percent of their incoming class has at LEAST one year of WE.

Of course not, but we are on TLS, and most TLSers have a T14 or bust mentality.

And we live ITE (In This Economy; post-2008 economic recession), which make attending a T14 the only viable and intelligent option.

Interesting things happening ITT. I've never seen a TLS study group that did not have a T14 with $ or bust mentality. Isn't that the point of shooting for 170+?

PSA for those who feel they are unemployable but still want WE: non-profits can be really great places to work right after college. Sometimes you get to do things that you probably wouldn't be able to otherwise and they're usually looking for young, motivated people. You're probably going to be poor regardless, so you might as well do something good.

ftr, I'm not suggesting this at all. I'm just curious about people's motivations and goals.I<3ScholarlySweets! wrote:"I've never seen a TLS study group that did not have a T14 with $ or bust mentality."

Greentea; you already observed that the motivation ITT is lacking in comparison to TLS pre-2013. This revelation should be of no surprise to you, and is consistent with decreasing LSAT medians.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
12 of the 14 in the T14 had LSAT medians of 170 or higher (that's how the 170 become associated with prestige and intelligence). Now, only 6 of the 14 in the T14 have medians of 170 or higher. This is pretty significant.
