Depends on if I can tell what the main diagram is going to be from the stimulus, which that is the case like 99% of the time.

PT 1 S2 G4 is an example of where i think it's nearly impossible to set up the game board just by reading the stimulus.

Thanks! That's how it is with me as well. But I remember reading somewhere that we shouldn't do it until we read the rules, so at times I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I don't remember if it was a reliable source or not, that's why I was wondering how everyone else does it.

Games <20 weird me out!

I think you can pretty well get a sense of the gameboard from the stimulus. I guess if you're doing a double layer sequencing game, for example, you could write all the rules down and then make the game board. But if a rule says "x must go fourth" I think it's just easier to have your master game board right there to write in X.

Sometimes though the rules don't really give you an idea to how to the game board will play out, and you really have nothing to mark on your master game board.

In that case, I could see how not writing down a master game board would, at the least, save time.

But even in that case I think it's helpful to see that there's really nothing to mark on the master game board and just to dive into the first question.

That is generally advice given to beginners so that they don't rush into making a game board that is incorrect without a complete look at the game. As you progress and get more comfortable recognizing game types it is perfectly acceptable to diagram after or as you read the stimulus.

Don't forget to study those old circular games! (there was one on the unreleased Feb exam this year)

Aah that makes a lot of sense! Thanks :)

I definitely plan on reserving a few drilling days for circular/misc games.

Ugh. I don't even remember the last time I've seen a circular game on a PT. Anyone know of a good website for sample circular games?

Hi!

One circular game I can think of is in PT JUNE 1991, GAME 1. And, I think there's another one in PT 41 (I could be wrong). But, I hope that helps!

Yes, (LinkRemoved) features a circular picnic table. Additionally, game 3 of SuperPrep B (LinkRemoved) has couples seated around a circular table.

Urg... First time taking a PT after reading LSAT trainer for a week and a half. Broke my trend of 170+ with a 169... It's like I forgot how to read LSAT stimuli... I was so lost..

Better redo older tests before I waste the few unattempted PTs I have left >.<

Don’t sweat it man! Breaking a streak of 170+ with a 169 is nothing to worry about. More psychological than anything.

That one was unique, probably not worth worrying about too much.

Yeah I've noticed that most of the games in the miscellaneous section for Cambridge LG are kind of poo poo'ed by JY. Typically he says something like "this is a really weird game and not very relevant to the modern LSAT."

Thanks everyone! Unfortunately I only have SuperPrep B, but I'll do some googling to see if I can find a few sample circular games for my weekend drills.

Took PT 62 yesterday and man I forgot how tough that test is.

I first took it in July 2013. I felt OK during the test, definitely not great

RC: -4
LR1: -0
LG: -0
LR2: -1

Raw 98
Scaled 178

So, yeah, it was nice when I saw my score was 1$8, but legitimately I don't think that represents how I felt with the test. I really struggled during each section to get through all the questions and had a bunch circled that I didn't really understand. I'm going to review today. IG time.

Hoping I can really understand everything better once I go over this test.

Survey: How long have you been studying LSAT?
what is your current score? score on fresh tests? score on used tests?

Getting much higher score on used tests for sure. 171-179
on fresh ones: 161-173
I think I am probably in the 165-170 range.
