You're right. I will probably drive for all my US travels this summer...a good ole road trip with good music is actually kinda therapeutic to me. I probably could make it work traveling internationally but I don't really have anybody I can go with...my friends are all working full-time & wont take time off...my best friend is getting her PhD and won't even come home for a weekend visit...and the rest are in serious relationships and are attached at the hip. So it's just lil ole me for now. I don't mind doing US travels alone, or with my sister.
If gas prices stay this cheap a road trip would be awesome. And it sucks that your friends have gotten boring.
There's a lot of the US I haven't seen - I've kind of been in a ring around the country, but other than Chicago anything in the middle has been missed. I bet a road trip would be really fun.

Yeah I've actually seen a lot of the eastern half of the US..still more id like to see but ya know. But I haven't ventured west at all. Ever. And there's so much to see out that way! I'm really into nature & natural beauty so that's why I'm dying to see the Grand Canyon & go hiking in Arches National Park and all that. I just wanna see and experience new things while I still can, even if it means going alone.

Its crazy how much variance there is in just the US in terms of landscapes and natural beauty. I grew up in the northeastish and moved to the South and there's so much to see down here.

I've been making a list of things I wanna start doing more & places I wanna see & all that for the next few months before I sell my soul, aka law school. I think it's the ideal time to do these things because my job situation is...less than ideal.
Here are some of mine...
Visit my sister in New Orleans, see the Grand Canyon, do the full bourbon trail here in Kentucky, revisit Mammoth Cave here in Kentucky, hike in Red River Gorge (KY), go back to Disney World...also wanna get back into piano lessons, start doing art like I used to & start making quilts again (something I started with my grandma who makes these super intricate, beautiful quilts but my machine broke). I just wanna experience more of life while I can!
So what's on everyone's pre-law school bucket list?!
I've been contemplating what I want to do over the next 6ish months for some time now. I am deciding between teaching the LSAT in Long Island for Kaplan (where I live),
moving to Vail, CO to coach HS lacrosse, work on the mountain, and do some snowboarding (I'd have my living/food free of charge), or do some traveling/volunteer work in Thailand. First two options I save/make money...in the latter I spend lots of money. I figure this is my only window of time to travel though...idk what to do lol!

I may be biased because I grew up in Colorado, but holy shit dude, that sounds like an easy decision to me! (Especially if you're getting food/ lodging covered because Vail is so damn expensive.) Vail is one of my favorite places on Earth. Massive mountain and an awesome village. I've been skiing for ~15 years of my life and there will still be new spots I find every time I go to Vail. Plus, it's super underrated during the summer. Lots of hiking/biking trails, white water rafting, fishing, boating and alpine summer sledding. And, Summit County (Breckinridge, Copper Mtn, Keystone) is only a short drive away. Breck has a lot of cool shit to do and is a sweet little town as well.
I'm hoping to spend my final summer of freedom in Colorado.
Well shit.......now I kinda wanna go to Colorado lol

Aaaaand now I also want to go to Colorado. Another place to add to my worldwide trip bucket list.
I've been but I was like, 8, so all I remember is snow and my ears popping in the mountains.

That's actually a good idea. If we get scores high enough to go where we want to go then we need to start checking stuff off our bucket list. I've been to a few recruitment events at a couple of law schools in my area (Miami, FL.) and they all say the same. Do things you want to do now, because you won't be able to do them later. I have a few projects around the house I've been wanting to do. I'm going to get to them. I told the wife, let's get the most out of our Disney passes because I won't be renewing them next year and maybe a weekend get a way because she might not see me very much the next three years.

I'm hoping to get some type of job abroad/at a resort/somewhere fun doing anything really. Think it would be interesting working with a bunch of people my age at a nice place. I'm pretty much in the same situation as some of you here, friends all just started working, no one can really take a lot of time off to go on an adventure.
...has anyone done something similar? I've just started looking into this.

No "other"as an option? I'm married with kids. I'm staying local (South Florida) and plan to practice locally.

I worked at Vail Mountain for a year. It wasn't abroad obviously but I absolutely loved the experience. Very easy to meet friends since everyone is around the same age

Idk, I'm surprised that I'm not actually dying for my score right now. I almost feel like I didn't even take the LSAT. I was way more obsessive last time

Last June I couldn't handle the suspense, especially since it was my first time.
