I will definitely take up your offer at some point! thanks haha will update later on once I have completed some pts.sephora_addict wrote:While I am not working full-time, I have started from scratch so that I could re-learn all the fundamentals. If you ever need anything or have questions, feel free to PM me! Since you already have the trainer, I would use that and then start taking preptests under timed conditions. After you take each preptest, write down the question types that you are getting wrong in each section. This should help you spot your weaknesses and you can go back and review those lessons as well as practice them. I would purchase PDF drill packets from Cambridge LSAT (before they take them down due to LSAC having a stick up their butt). Drilling question types will help you master all your weaknesses. It is the key to a 180. Like they say, practice makes perfect! I personally started with a 146 last year when I first took the LSAT. After a year of feeling hopeless, I started motivating myself and here I am restarting from the beginning. I took a diagnostic test about 2.5 weeks ago and scored a 148princessa316 wrote:Hey everyone,
Finally have convinced myself to take the June 2016 exam. I'm super nervous. I tried taking the LSATS during my junior year of college and just could not do it. I have such a great fear of standardized tests! Anyways, I'm starting off with the LSAT Trainer. Not sure which other books to get just yet. I'm hoping that once I get in depth with the trainer I can have a better idea of what I really want to focus on. I got 147on a diagnostic last summer (took it to see where I stood after 3 years post grad). I'm really hoping to get at least 165+.
Anyone else starting from scratch while working full time? Really hoping to get some study partners to force myself to make it through.but that's okay cause I know all this hard work will lead to at least a 170+. AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS

Hey-- checking in.
Took my first timed practice test this weekend and did well. I missed the most, by far, on reading comp, which was the only section I have not yet isolated and worked on... so... motivation to keep isolating sections and putting in the work!

One of the things I'm having a hard time with is sitting down and focusing on studying. It's just so mind-numbingly boring and the slightest thing distracts me. How do you all cope with this until you start doing practice tests? I don't want to use music since you can't do that during the big day.

Try 7Sage app, Lots of yawns and coughs. Or just study at Starbucks and work through the distractions.

I took in Feb 2014 using only the powerscore logic games bible and old LSATs to practice on. I scored in the low 170s but I want to retake for a 175+ as well.teenagewildlife wrote:On my last two LSATs (June and Oct 2015) I had a 161 and a 167. Today I did my first diagnostic (Superprep Test A) and scored 169.
I'm wondering whether anyone is retaking for their second or third test and what their study strategy looks like. During the test I felt pretty good about remembering most of the tricks that had worked for me in the past, and I'm really looking to be as efficient as possible without burning out. Going for 175+.
I just started prepping again with the new version of the LG bible after not looking at the LSAT for almost a year. I usually only miss between 0-2 and on the LR and RC sections, and usually not more than 5 total on those 3 sections. I'm hoping I can get that number down with just practice alone. For LG I'm trying to consistently go minus 0-2 every time, so I'm drilling and reviewing the bible in order to get there. If I can't consistently PT at 175+ by March then I'll prob start looking at other resources, but for now I'd really like to stay away from the study plans that some people have with multiple books and guides and stuff - idk they just seem overwhelming, but maybe I'll come to find out that that is just what needs to be done in order squeeze out those last couple points.
I feel like having a long break from the LSAT is helping me not feeling burned out this time around - I feel like it would have sucked to start prepping immediately after a real LSAT for a retake. It wasn't too hard to remember most of the concepts and strategies I used last time around either.

LG bible does a good job of throwing in drills and old question sets to break up the chapters so you're not doing to much continuous reading. Idk if the other powerscore books are set up that way too. What are you studying from?tk421991 wrote:One of the things I'm having a hard time with is sitting down and focusing on studying. Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Took the Feb 2000 exam and got a 164 diag. Really weird because I really thought I did horrible. Like, 130 terrible. My timing was all over the place, I started off with games really shitty (which affected my mood), and my RC experimental felt like I was guessing all over the place. I probably guessed on around 10 LR questions and ran out of time on some. Ran out of time on my LG. Had like 30 seconds left after my real RC.
LG: 16/24
LR1: 21/24
LR2: 21/26
RC: 20/27
Going to review this and see where I thought I was off. But I'm super stoked. I'm really hoping my long hiatus is the reason for this (ya ya causation bull).

All I can say is I'm glad I just read your post with your last paragraph. I'm in the same boat. I'm not shooting for a score but I'm just taking question by question. No coffee too has helped me over the past couple years.R. Jeeves wrote:I took in Feb 2014 using only the powerscore logic games bible and old LSATs to practice on. Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
I suggest maybe reading like 20 pages every few hours. It allows me to get a lot done over a spaced out amount of time. I cannot read 40+ pages in one shot. It makes me want to fall asleep and I lose train of thought and start browsing through my phone because I'm so bored (like I am right now). Sometimes I'm extra lazy so I'll do 10 pages every few hours.. Depends on my moodtk421991 wrote:One of the things I'm having a hard time with is sitting down and focusing on studying. has everyone decided on exactly what you'll be reviewing during the Skype session? I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to this weeks session, but I'd like to be up to date with whatever you guys are all going over in case I can make it.

Hey, checking in. Finally hoping to write this test in June. Was supposed to write last year, but had a bunch of stuff mess that up. Diagnostic was 155, and wrote preptest 64 last week and got a 164 so ready to see how high I can take this. Shoot for 180 and land in a pile of broken dreams, can't wait.

Is anyone else using The Official LSAT SuperPrep here? It explains prep-test A, did they do this for other prep-tests?

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
I’ve created a quick and easy form for those who are interested in doing the first (of hopefully several) Skype meetings this forthcoming Sunday the 24th. If you are interested in being a part of this meeting please fill out and copy and paste the following and PM it to me and we will add things to the itinerary and hopefully accommodate everyone. We are thinking about capping these meetings out at 10 people:
1.What time (Eastern Standard Time) works best for you for about a 90 minute meeting on 1/24/2016:
2.This meeting will be about LR, are there any questions you want to bring forth to discuss that are confusing:
3.Are there any questions that have provided insight into intricacies of the test that you think we should know about (for instance, is there a particular use of statistics on a particular question that is at first glance tricky or different or are there any instances of a “bait and switch” answer choice that got you at first etc):
4.Starting in mid-late February, will you be far along in your studies to review whole preptests together ranging from PT 55-77:
