there was a thread for guessing the #of test takers,

any idea when the numbers will be released?
http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/data/ ... stered.asp

If you really wanted to figure it out you could always use the way back machine to see when that link usually gets updated relative to the release date.

Better jobs like what? Pretty sure hiring is down across the board for high paying jobs
Someone who could've gone into consulting decides to go to law school pre-2008. Now they're sticking with the former instead of going to Yale or whatever. Trickle-down.

LSAC said that they were delayed due to the storm, but they're aiming to have it up by the end of this week.

Eh...I don't think the smartest kids are choosing to go into finance and consulting any more now than they were during or before the downturn. It's just not as easy of a decision as it used to be. There are far fewer spots available with layoffs seemingly every quarter, the public has vilified us, and compensation is abysmal compared to pre-crisis levels, while working the same grueling 100 hour weeks.

This.
I think given the translucency of employment outcomes published by ABA it's likely to stay low or even continue to decrease. That plus the 7-10% increases in tuition per year, it seems the bubble might finally be about to burst, if it hasn't already.

Well, we'll know by Friday. I'm excited, although if the bubble is about to burst, I am curious as to why Junes # of test takers did not show a significant decline..

The "bubble" may have been last year, and now maybe we'll see a steady decline.

Wow, that was also well before June 2006 when schools started reporting the highest score.

I'd imagine there's a lot more retakers nowadays. Not sure what to make of that though.

Definitely. We're rapidly approaching the point where the number of applicants is in line with the number of open seats.

Brilliant news. I could dance right now.

Can anyone guess why June bucked the trend of double digit drops? Now that October has come out it's the clear outlier.
