Yeah, seems like some inference questions are more straightforward and don't really require it.Rupert Pupkin wrote:Same. Some questions answers are definitely more clear if you diagram it out, but due to time constraints i only do it on tough questions with lots of formal logic. Or a parallel quest its often effective.Mikey wrote:if there's a lot of conditional language then yeah i may diagram it out, but for the most part I don't if it's just a normal inference Q without may mosts, some, all, only, etc239840 wrote:Do you guys often diagram out inference questions in LR?? I just drilled a couple for which it seemed very helpful to see the logic used in the stimulus in formal logic.

That games section is definitely abnormally difficult, including even the games other than the buildings game. I thought RC was abnormally easy, however. It might just be because I studied philosophy and the first passage put me off to a great start (went perfect in under 5 mins which I don't think I've ever done before in RC).Mikey wrote:it is, but i ran out of time on it and also struggled a bit with coming up with a game board for one of the other games, but eventually realized what i had to dolittlewing67 wrote:Isn’t that the test with the buildings LG? The first passage wasn't that bad. I think it had 5 or 6 questions? I had trouble with 1 of them but didn't let it sink my time so picked an answer and moved on and think I did it all in 6 mins or soGnarMarBinx wrote:That games section is definitely abnormally difficult, including even the games other than the buildings game. UGH, NOT READY.... Praying this is enough time to move my PT average up a couple more points so that the 2-3 point test day drop keeps me at 170...

Checking in, it'll be my first LSAT, full time senior in college, hoping to apply this cycle if I do well, considering signing up for Feb LSAT as backup for this cycle which I know is a little late... if all else fails I'll probably try for next cycle...

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
Idk why I never used it until this retake, but 7sage analytics rules... What an awesome function!!! haha
Been living under a rock apparently... I guess i was just too pre-customed to grading my PTs by hand. Anyway...
Took PT58 today- not as a disciplined 5-section PT with proper breaks, but I did the full PT more of as drilled (timed properly) Sections.
Need to get my LR consistently under-3/4. been stuck there for a while and sometimes will have breakthrough and go -1-2 and have scored -0 before, but its more likely than not that i scored a -4. On 58 I went -3 one section and -4 on the other. Same with RC. My RC fluctuates all over the place but went -5 so not too bad, but brought me out of 170 for a 169. Still feeling under the weather and during RC my focus was weak during the last two passages so I feel like across the board some questions i got wrong just because my endurance isnt fully up to pace again.
Turns out i mainly fixed my issues with assumption questions and now i have gotten some silly MBT and Resolve the Discrepancy questions. Thanks 7sage analytics for pointing that out. Going to review those chapters in the MH LR tonight and drill them some more.
My Plan from here on out is to take PTS 3x a week most likely Tues/Thurs/Sat simulating disciplined PT setting. and regardless, every day at least do 1 drilling of each section and in the evenings review and study material accordingly. Missed my actual PTs this tues and thurs due to being sick, but feel like i have gained some fundamental strength in the meantime.
Also, I dont BR but I think I am going to give it a go again on my next actual PT to see if it helps..

My boss just tentatively approved me taking the two weeks before the exam off AND she offered to write me a rec when I mentioned I’m applying to her alma mater. I’m in a super good mood yay!

Re: The Official December 2017 Study Group
Finally got back into the PT game after 3.5 weeks off to do apps. Managed a 170 on PT70, which I’m pretty happy about a month out. It was a re-test, but I took it at the public library where a woman sat next to me and had a full conversation on the phone in Arabic through my whole LG section...
Think I FINALLY have a strategy which works for me in RC, which is a massive relief
