Portland/Seattle/Vancouver are the perfect size for me. Have all the amenities of a big city, nature integrated within and around them, and not so packed with people.

Same. Like it in NYC but no NYU/Columbia for me. UW is my top choice but my family lives in Portland, would up interviewing with L&C while I'm out here on vacation. I gotta say, they place well in PDX, and if I received $$$, man I'd probably attend . On the other hand, my UW tuition would be a sum total of 32k (god bless the U.S military), so I'm pretty damn hopeful I get in.

interviewed for L&C a couple of weeks ago. It's my pocket pick school. I love me some Portland and I'm not really looking to go ahead and do big law for the rest of my life.

Of all the 'regional' schools, L&C has to be one of the best. If NYC's is Fordham, you still have NYU/Columbia grads beating you out everywhere. Same in DC, Boston, LA, etc. But in the PNW, you have UW, L&C, and U of O.

UO undergrad alum here. The problem is that L&C/UO/Willamette are all regional and the market isn't big enough to support all of them. Also, UO has been better about it recently but all the Oregon schools are pretty terrible at giving out $$$. :/

Hawaii has to have them beat. If I could convince myself that I could live in Honolulu and still save for retirement on the "biglaw" salary there. But if I lived in Hawaii I'd be spending way too much money on watersports equipment to save on anything less than market.

Also, happy Hanukkah. Crazy that within a few years we've had both a Thanksgivukkah and a Christmakkah!

I guess NYC is off the table then. I'm all for NYU and Columbia, because I'm all about that island life.
