Checking in for my third take. Hoping to get more scholarship money in the fall. Not exactly sure when I should start studying, but probably will in the next week or two.

Hey! Thanks for the advice! I showed my laptop to a few people and they all said the computer seems to be fine, it's just the screen that is destroyed. So, I'm going to try and get a screen replacement. I'm about to call all these repair shops in the area with my laptop info! keep your fingers crossed for me..
Meanwhile, you can use a HDMI cable and connect the computer to your TV screen.

New to the thread. Are there any common materials you all are using in the thread?

Lol, it's not. I don't have one either. I find it counterproductive to my learning.

Hey everyone, so as far as the Skype reviews are concerned, next Sunday is looking like the best day for our inaugural meeting. I will be posting a quick form I wrote up by Tuesday so we can create an itinerary for the review (what problems people are having trouble with, what problems people think are really interesting/provide insight into the test etc.) I look forward to these meetings!

From my experience the Powerscore books are great, especially the chapter on conditional logic in the logical reasoning book. I actually have the Powerscore logical reasoning flashcards to compliment the book and I recommend them also. once a week I spend 2 hours going over conditional logic just to really drill the concepts.

As an aside, opinions are quite diverse on this forum but as far as guides and books go; powerscore, the last trainer and the Manhattan books are almost universally regarded as the cream of the crop.

On my last two LSATs (June and Oct 2015) I had a 161 and a 167. Today I did my first diagnostic (Superprep Test A) and scored 169.

I'm wondering whether anyone is retaking for their second or third test and what their study strategy looks like. During the test I felt pretty good about remembering most of the tricks that had worked for me in the past, and I'm really looking to be as efficient as possible without burning out. Going for 175+.

the study strategy is highly dependent on your section scores and misses and it's hard to say without that information. it's important to figure out what you missed and why.

if you did well on all sections except LG then focus on that as it's highly learnable. if you are missing a ton in RC instead then that could take a lot of effort to improve.

Yeah good point. LG used to kill me, I'd miss 10+, but I think I've finally got a handle on it from the last two times studying. Missed 2 LG today so I think I can get it down to -0.

Small update on my studying:

I am loving logic games.. thanks to Blueprint haha. I actually look forward to working on LG's and then seeing how I did. So far getting -1 per game. Hopefully that will turn out to be a -0 per game in the future  but seriously. A year ago I couldn't even handle a logic game. Now i'm slowly making it my bitch. :P

How's everyone else doing in reviewing? Any small victories or is anyone currently feeling stuck?

Goodluck! I took my first one two weeks ago after a year of giving up on the LSAT and I got a 148  but I have a lot of faith that I am going to do better this time around! So far things are going well with my prepping. Re-learning the fundamentals and then going to drill for practice. Let me know how your diagnostic goes!

Will do! I have the same game plan. Drill and drill throw in a pt, do puzzles, relax on weekends, then just treat game day like the previous pts. Good luck to you too!

Hurray us! I'm also averaging around -1 on each logic game that I do. Although for some grouping games i get -2 or -3, but rarely.

Hey everyone,

Finally have convinced myself to take the June 2016 exam. I'm super nervous. I tried taking the LSATS during my junior year of college and just could not do it. I have such a great fear of standardized tests! Anyways, I'm starting off with the LSAT Trainer. Not sure which other books to get just yet. I'm hoping that once I get in depth with the trainer I can have a better idea of what I really want to focus on. I got 147 :? on a diagnostic last summer (took it to see where I stood after 3 years post grad). I'm really hoping to get at least 165+.

Anyone else starting from scratch while working full time? Really hoping to get some study partners to force myself to make it through.

While I am not working full-time, I have started from scratch so that I could re-learn all the fundamentals. If you ever need anything or have questions, feel free to PM me! Since you already have the trainer, I would use that and then start taking preptests under timed conditions. After you take each preptest, write down the question types that you are getting wrong in each section. This should help you spot your weaknesses and you can go back and review those lessons as well as practice them. I would purchase PDF drill packets from Cambridge LSAT (before they take them down due to LSAC having a stick up their butt). Drilling question types will help you master all your weaknesses. It is the key to a 180. Like they say, practice makes perfect! I personally started with a 146 last year when I first took the LSAT. After a year of feeling hopeless, I started motivating myself and here I am restarting from the beginning. I took a diagnostic test about 2.5 weeks ago and scored a 148  but that's okay cause I know all this hard work will lead to at least a 170+. AND THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS :D

I posted in this thread earlier about deciding whether or not to sit for Feb. or June, and I decided on June. I'm working full-time, studying an hour a day during the week, and taking a test and BRing it on Saturdays. I've been studying since late May of 2015, and have gone from a 146 to a 171.

I am so down for this Skype session. How can I join?

Congrats on the major boost in points! 171 is awesome and you can only go higher from there! I believe we are having a Skype session this upcoming Sunday night. Just keep an eye out for when Binghamton1018 posts more about it this week.
