After doing a bunch of 5 section PTs, I really hope my experimental is LG Saturday. It's definitely the least draining section and as enjoyable as it gets on the LSAT. On both of my previous takes, I've had RC experimentals. That sucked

Ugh, finished my PT and completely died on the last game (PT 68, the articles game). Had to guess on the last four. I managed to still hit 170 by a complete miracle, but I just don't know what to do with these newer LGs. Nothing I do seems to improve it.
If I tend to die on the last game, is doing the games in backwards order a credited strategy? Halp please.

Actual PT is going pretty well, though. I wish Batman could proctor my actual test.

I just finished that LG section and came here to complain about the last game. Game 3 took me a bit of time but I figured I was fine since I breezed through games 1 and 2. Had to guess on the last 5 questions. Ouch. I'm going to watch the 7sage after I grade my sections.leslieknope wrote:Ugh, finished my PT and completely died on the last game (PT 68, the articles game). Had to guess on the last four. Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Okay, another quick little vent post.
So as I slowly make my way through BRing PT 67, I made 2 mistakes on RC by missing a word ('not' in a sentence, for example). Now on S2 Q4, an LR Q, I made a super simple error by not reading 'sofa'. It was a trap term shift answer, and I fell for it. This happens rarely on the whole, but frequently enough that it's terribly disconcerting. Has anyone had this issue? And, if so, how does one overcome it?
Essentially, my concern is that I'm aware I need some improvements still, and I can control those weaknesses by studying more/practicing more/drilling more. I'm worried that I can't control for little, stupid misreads. And if those misreads directly cause -2, or for me to be confounded by a game in LG (which has happened), or by a Q in RC, which eats up time, then it leads to further -s later in the section due to time crunch, then this is clearly my biggest weakness that I don't feel in a position to control as well as that lack of fundamental knowledge/ability.
I know this is the nature of the LSAT and why the time is such a major component, which is what makes this a complainy/vent post, but I'm wondering whether this issue afflicts others as much, and if there's a good way to overcome this, or minimize its impact.

I just started watching 7sage and the video explanation for it is 31 minutes long. Yikes. Yeah, that section was brutal. I was a bit slow on Game 3 and def didn't expect such a hard Game 4.leslieknope wrote:I just started watching 7sage and the video explanation for it is 31 minutes long. I didn't think that section was that bad. The last two games were definitely time consuming but I finished each of the first two in five minutes or so and had tons of time. But to answer, I would not do reverse order. You'll freak yourself out and mess up on easy questions when you get to them or not get to them IMO. Just do them in their order that way you get all the early points and only guess on hard ones.nlee10 wrote:Yeah, that section was brutal. Went -3 on the mirrors passage RC.... except none of them were on the mirrors passage. All were on the passage before where I was like "I guess this is the last easy one before the mirrors passage!" lol me. lol this test.
Thanks Raider, though. You're right, I'd probably just freak myself out into making dumb mistakes (as ^ shows that I am prone to do). Got to do work, that's all.

Trying to decide whether I should right now... Originally I was going to PT, but I'm wondering if maybe I'd be better off just drilling timed LG sections and trying to really nail down timing, then drilling RC and LR by type. What do you guys think?nlee10 wrote:Nice...are you Pt'ing tomorrow as well?

IMO, if you don't have any issues with endurance with doing 5 sections at once, then might as well focus on smaller things.leslieknope wrote:Trying to decide whether I should right now... I'm not sure if I do though? Both LGs I screwed up recently have been the 5th section on a 5 section PT, but both of them also had a hard as fuck last games and I did fine on the section 4. It's hard to tell what causes what.nlee10 wrote: IMO, if you don't have any issues with endurance with doing 5 sections at once, then might as well focus on smaller things.
Maybe I'll do 5 sections of LG back to back instead! Nothing about that will go wrong obv.

Oh gosh, me too! I had an experimental LG last time and was soon relieved. Fingers crossed for twice. RC IS draining.m27 wrote:sfoglia wrote:Let's hope we're all more right shark when we LSAT on Saturday.nlee10 wrote:left shark was certainly drunk at the performance.![]()

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
No need to go backwards, but I usually flip through and do the easiest games first, which for me are linear. Just quickly scan through the prompts for all four games and then choose the simplest to begin as a kind of warm up to the harder ones. It also helps to know in advance if you've maybe got a tricky one coming up ahead, so that you can try to speed up to give yourself more time for that (or, if you are like me, leave it for last so that you don't end up spending twenty minutes on it to the detriment of the other games.)leslieknope wrote:Ugh, finished my PT and completely died on the last game (PT 68, the articles game).
