IN ADDITION: if anyone is interested, Thursday I will be doing a comparably sized packet pulled mostly from the "miscellaneous" Cambridge packet.

I've already completed all of the bibles and practice books that go with them. What's the next best thing/a good alternative?
Received a 156 my first time around (after studying 6+ months) so I'm definitely looking to try a new approach!if you need any help just pm me! I myself am a retaker and am restarting from the beginning with the basics. I signed up for Blueprints online course, as well as purchased the Manhattan LR and RC books for after I finish the online course. As for drilling, a group of us in this thread are thinking of getting together on skype to go over LR questions and possibly LG and RC questions. You should join! It's not set in stone yet but once it is you will see posts about it on here as well as meeting times!
I definitely will, thanks! I'm looking into the blueprint online course right now actually. The only in-person class near me would start in April and I want some specific direction with my studying before that point.

I'm still doing MSS questions (I know, soo long, but the intense review and drilling has improved my accuracy and thinking with respect to the question type) and should be moving to the next question type by Sunday. I think it would be great if we could meet maybe twice or three times a week virtually to do this, since we're all in different locations.chicharon wrote:I've been doing this on my own but yeah I'm up to discussBinghamton1018 wrote:yes. Let me know what you guys think!!
I've been following this conversation and definitely wanna get in on the review sessions. Just to be clear... what exactly are we going to be reviewing on Sundays? Which books, bundles, tests, etc? It would be great if we could come up with a set study schedule so that we're all on the same page each week. Let me know if anyone has an idea of what this schedule is going to look like

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Hey, so I'm taking the Feb LSAT as a retake. My last take was June 2015 & I'm retaking for more scholarship money...so my question is...
Has anyone plateaud on their PT scores & gotten over the hump?
I have just a couple weeks left of studying but am looking for some helpful tips to breaking plateus...the mistakes I make on PTs arent really consistent so I can't pinpoint what specifically is bringing me down.
LG I consistently go 0-3 but I've gone 2-10 wrong on LR and RC before. They're really hit or miss for me. I've done all the Bibles, LSAT Trainer & some drilling with Cambridge bundles (but don't really find those helpful for LR or RC)...
Any advice for the next couple weeks?

Where has everyone purchased and downloaded PTs???
I prefer having them as individual tests rather than getting a book filled with them. I know I can buy them from LSAC, but just wondering if there's a less expensive option.
I've now signed up for a blueprint online course, bought Manhattan Strategy Guides, and bought Tests 21-40 Cambridge drilling by question type...
I guess I just need to come up with a plan on how exactly to work through all of this!
Recommendations are welcome

Hey! So you officially have most of the same materials I have haha. Your blueprint online course comes with a study schedule so I would follow that. As you wait for your books I would take practice exam 1 as it tells you to do that before you start the lessons. You can print it out or wait til you get your books since it is in the supplement book. Also I personally will not be using the Manhattan LR and RC books until I'm done with the BP course since I don't want to confuse myself with the different approaches. Since you're using the same materials though maybe we could keep in touch and see how each other is progressing! Also if you need any help feel free to message me. Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Greetings everyone, officially checking in! My first take in December went pretty well (middle digit was a 7 at least
), but I still feel like I could bump it up a few points to a really competitive score, especially since my GPA is just below median for HYS.
I'll try to take it easy for 1-2 months since I really felt the burnout after 3 intense months prepping for Dec on top of working full time. I think where I messed up was taking too many PTs without thoroughly reviewing them--I was doing 4-5 per week in November. This time around I'll probably keep it to 1-2/week, allowing myself a day or two of rest and at least a couple days of review.
Does anyone have any advice in terms of reusing material? I'm hoping some time off will make it feel fresher once I pick it back up, but most of my drilling material/PTs are pretty heavily marked up. Is it worth it to reinvest the ~$200 in new materials, particularly PTs? Should I do my best to erase everything?

Im in a similar boat, especially with the old and ratty marked up PTs that I took in the summer while studying for october. Anyway, I bought the same books again, which were like $20 each on amazon, and started retaking them. It's amazing how much I dont remember from these tests - I only remember the subject matter of the questions I spent a lot of time reviewing and the difficult RC passages, never the answers. Instead, i find myself reasoning my way through those tough problems much better than I used to be able to, thus arriving at the correct answer naturally.
So yeah, invest in some new books. It helped me a lot

LEGIT FREAKING OUT:
So, I was working on my 7Sage online lesson, when I had to move rooms because I'm living at home. I had my headphones (the ones that come with your iPhone) inside and when I tried turning on my laptop I noticed there was a HUGE crack on there.. I tried turning it off and on 2 times, but nothing..
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
My laptop has my Cambridge LR and RC, and Volumes 1 and 2 of the LG in my LSAT folder along with my LSAT schedule.. Am I doomed? Is this fixable through an IT center? Will it be expensive?
My laptop is a 2013 HP.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE ADVISE!!!!

As long as your hard drive is still in tact it should be retrievable. It sounds like you might've just damaged your laptop screen.

You can take it to a reputable repair & have them repair the screen. You can also see if you can have the things that are stored on your hard drive transferred to an external hard drive & then drop them into another computer (assuming you have another computer that you can use whenever you want). If you want to go with the second option, you can always go to either a reputable repair shop or even the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I'm not an expert in this kind of stuff, but I really think you'll be able to get your stuff back. Hope this helps & let me know what happens!ngogirl12 wrote:Oh thank GOD!!! Just wanted to update everyone. Started the Blueprint online prep course and so far everything is going well. Things are starting to click, especially with logic games! Also when I received all my books, in the same box they gave me a watch specifically for the LSAT. It is helping me with timing myself when I drill questions. Hoping this course and all my other study efforts help me to get closer to that 180.

1. How many people show up for LSATs? As in, do they jam people into a classroom with every desk filled or is it 12, 16, 20 people? I'm going to be taking the test at RIC (Rhode Island College), it's a relatively normal state school of about 9,000 students.
2. How much time is between the 35-minute sections? A minute, 30 seconds? Reason why I ask is because I'm going to time myself with my cell phone - just want to know how fast I have to be.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
I can't give you a number of how many people will show up at RIC to take the test because all test centers are different. For example, Villanova university is an hour and a half from me and they have gotten anywhere from 50-100+ students in the past signing up to take the test at their location. That is because their classrooms can hold that many students, or else they wouldn't let that many people sign up to take it their on LSAC's website. The location where I took the LSAT back in Feb 2015 was Muhlenburg college which is only 15 minutes from my home and there were only 15-20 people taking the test that day. It was awesome and I hope when I take the test again that the amount of test takers is on the low side. The classrooms there can prob hold about 50 people. So like I said it all depends how many people a classroom can hold and whether or not all the students that signed up for the test even show up for it.tk421991 wrote:Speaking of timing, I got a couple questions:sephora_addict wrote:Just wanted to update everyone. As for your second question, you have 35 minutes per section. It comes down to a 1min and 25 seconds (give or take) you should be spending per question. I would look for an online free proctor app to help you mimic test day conditions. Try 7Sage LSAT's app. That's what I use. Hope this answers your questions.

To folks who have studied for the LSAT while taking university classes full time -- how did you schedule LSAT prep?
I originally planned to do both everyday. But now I adjusted my schedule to 4 days a week for school work and 3 days for LSAT prep (with maybe 2-3 games on school days before bed) and it seems to be much more productive. Luckily I have mostly assignment-based classes this semester and therefore don't need to memorize minute details because 3 of my classes don't even have tests, so 4 days seems sufficient to get all A's.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
in a bit of a quandary about how to prep for retake. i have just about 1 fresh PT left after dec. my scores in different sections of the dec test are a bit unexpected. i blind guessed on all 6 questions on 1 passage of rc but ended up doing better than expected in that section. in some others i had thought that i barely missed any but went around -5.
if i take the pt 77 in the beginning of the prep to identify what went wrong, then i would lose out on 1 almost fresh dec test as i haven't looked up any of its answers yet.
if i delay taking the pt 77 till later then i wouldn't have a very good idea of what went wrong.
since i have almost no other fresh tests, interested to know from other multiple retakers with no fresh material about the prep approach.

Hey! Thanks for the advice! I showed my laptop to a few people and they all said the computer seems to be fine, it's just the screen that is destroyed. So, I'm going to try and get a screen replacement. I'm about to call all these repair shops in the area with my laptop info! keep your fingers crossed for me..aghassemi91 wrote: You can take it to a reputable repair & have them repair the screen.
