What about PSEUDO-SUFFICIENT ASSUMPTION?
Would I find that in Cambridge's Sufficient Assumption packet?

Sleeping pretty well. As for diet, I think I do a good job. I eat a lot of nuts (almonds and walnuts) throughout the day, and meals consist of some combination of chicken, fish, brown rice and roasted vegetables. I drink at least a cup each of almond milk and carrot juice, and I make sure that I eat couple apples and bananas every day. I have also started drinking two cups of green tea every day.roshan07 wrote:in my experience, this is a result of lack of proper diet and/or sleep.biggestlawman wrote:Drilled 13 games this afternoon. I somehow every once in a while, experience fatigue on the last game. Anyone else experiencing the same?
Now for those who are going to say that its lack of exercise, I exercise six days out of seven for an hour a day.

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
I'll underline/annotate certain things as I go; I find that if I stop at the end of each paragraph it slows me down. I usually write AO next to something that seems like the author's opinion, I write BG next to the background knowledge, CO next to a countering opinion, etc. And I usually underline words that I've never seen before, because there's almost always a question about them.SirArthurDayne wrote:Question about annotation on RC for those of you that have a method that works: do you annotate at the end of each paragraph or as you go? Would anyone be willing to share their system with us? I feel like annotation helps me but it's not really a method but a way to keep me engaged. It needs to be more effective though.
I do agree with you that it keeps me engaged more than anything, but for me staying focused is the main struggle with RC.

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
i missed -5 in an (old) RC section recently
during BR, I changed
- 1 right answer to wrong
- 1 wrong answer to another wrong answer
until i looked up the answer key
does this happen with people who usually ace recent RC in timed test conditions?

Would you like to share the technique being employed for RC?BroManDudeManBro wrote:Broke up PT 56 today:

Anotha 167. Or as DJ Khaled would say: ANOTHA 1.
-0 LG, -5RC, -5 LR, -5 LR
Really liking my RC being where it is. Shoutout to Nicole from 7sage, you da real mvp for hosting that webinar. Was around -8 going in to Octobers LSAT. Now I've been consistently getting dat -5 and finishing passages with time to spare.
Really don't know what to do for these next couple of weeks to be honest. I'd be content with anything 164 and above. Maybe just push up my LR a bit I guess, it's better than just doing nothing but maintaining my knowledge for a month.

Hi Friends,
I'm retaking for the third time, problem is I've practiced every darn test, how do you go about that, retake all of them again?
Thanks in advance.

Do you guys consciously attempt to reduce sub-vocalization during tests? I tried speed reading techniques like that and the results were mixed. I ultimately canned it all as it created a weird mix when using it on RC but not LR. I'm trying to find a method to stick with through the test, as RC was my main downfall in October (-12).

I was on the webinar as well with Nicole, I think you gave a nice explanation too.BroManDudeManBro wrote:Well I merge my own technique that I was developing, but she offered some points that I incorporated/that set me into a higher score.GreekOmega12 wrote:

So I guess it's a bromandudemanbro-7sage-manhattan hybrid.
I summarize paragraphs on the left after reading them in 1 sentence. That keeps my focus engaged. I'll start thinking about other things while reading if I don't do this, like how much I'd rather be at the bar getting drunk, or how I wish I was currently running through the 6ix with my woes.
While reading, I box any name being stated. Whether it's a specific name like "Bob Dole" or simply "scientists".
I underline any theory being talked about. That's the only thing I underline.
I put brackets around what I call "key things". These are like terms, or just something I intuitively believe is important while reading. So like: Cats are cool because they are furry and they have what is known as a [butt]. See how I put brackets around butt?
Also circle any time. If it says 17AD, circle it. 1st century? circle it.
So if a question asks for a specific person, just scan around the passage for boxes. Or if it asks about a theory, scan around the passage for brackets. Same with any time. This keeps your eyes in the right spots, and saves you from wasting time looking around the whole passage.
Also when I'm done reading the entire passage, I close my eyes and say "paragraph one asserted X, paragraph two asserted Y.." and do that for each paragraph, eventually leading to myself saying "and the main point was Z". This is very brief, like "paragraph one had a theory and backed it with evidence", "paragraph two introduced counter arguments".
And most importantly, stay calm!!! I freaked the fuck out during RC on Octobers sitting, because it was my first section and I was like "ZomgYoWtfLsatYoWtfLsatIsNowYoStfImLsating". I take close my eyes and take a deep breath once I'm done a passage. Inhale 4 seconds, exhale 4 sections. This just promotes more oxygen flow into your noggin, and helps anxiety.

Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
not sure how much you can 'improve' rc from a -3. i guess even people who ace this section can easily miss a few points on the real testgamerish wrote:I do feel it's important to note, compared to not doing any of that stuff, it didn't actually change my score. I got the same score on RC on test day as I did on my diagnostic a year and a half ago and on almost every single PT I have ever taken (-3), so none of that stuff is, by any means, an auto boost in points. I did very much neglect RC studying the first time around which is something I'm trying to rectify this time.

Does timing individual RC passages help with time over the grand scheme of things or is it fairly ineffective because you don't have to worry about endurance?
