Great job, this was not an easy pt and one of the worst curves. Sustain the focus, rinse, repeat.soj wrote:
Overall, the results of this PT are pretty encouraging because of how few mistakes I made especially on the tougher questions, but the number of mistakes due to misreading is pretty troubling. I could have easily gone -3 raw rather than -7 if I hadn't made those mistakes. I hope I won't be making as many of these mistakes in future PTs.

Re: June 2011 Study Group
Anyone else having inconsitencies with RC? One PT I'll be -3 and then tonight I had -11. I still managed a 164 tonight, which is right on pace with my schdeule but I would really like to improve on RC.

It went great. Thanks so much for sending Matt by. Btw, when you get a chance Noah I posted a question about a possible typo/possible missed inference I'm making on one of the formal logical problems in the Manhattan logical reasoning guide. Would love for you to take a look on the previous page when you get a chance. There are 2 posts on there. Thanks so much!

I'm glad it went well. Shoot me the link to the question you're asking. - N

Re: June 2011 Study Group
Here is the original post:
According to page 358: Many is synonymous with some. many = some. If the question asks what can be inferred from "Many dogs weigh more than 20 lbs. and many dogs are difficult to train." I don't see how anything can be inferred other then "Some things that weigh more than 20 lbs. are dogs and some things that are difficult to train are dogs." I don't see how you can derive a Must Be True answer that says "Some dogs that are difficult to train weigh more more than 20 pounds." Does anyone see something I am missing?
This is in reference to a problem on page 364.

Hey Noah. Couldn't partake in the RC session fully, but heard a bit of it while 'away' and it was helpful as always. Thanks to you and Matt for that. As an aside, just wanted to tell you that i'm very impressed with the quality of the updated LR guide. It has more new features than the new ipad, as far as I'm concerned. I rant about it so much on TLS that I think ppl are starting to suspect that I work for MLSAT. In all seriousness, that sufficient/necessary drill was golden, and as a retaker, exactly what i needed to get out of my bad habits (wish i had a cleaner, beginner mind). Thanks, again.Manhattan LSAT Noah wrote:How did the session go last night? Hunterrhoid's referring to a difficult parallel reasoning question - PrepTest 37 (June 2002 LSAT), Section 2, Question 26 (page 303 in Next 10 Actual, Official LSAT PrepTests).ladybug89 wrote:what's scrag island?Hunterrhoid wrote:If you have to rush, your weakness might actually be a different question type that isn't leaving you the time you need to properly address a difficult PR/PF question like SCRAG ISLAND.

Hey everyone - I took screenshots during the RC lesson and made them into a little PDF for if anybody missed it or wants to review. Just let me know if you'd like a copy.

Again, I'll be in the room for a few hours finishing up my LR pile from now until whenever I'm done. This includes some of the harder LR questions of various types from my cambridge pack, and a few LGs I've been meaning to go over. If you feel like attacking a few questions, feel free to join.

I downloaded a proctor mp3 (from LSAT blog maybe?) and I always use an asnwer sheet (misbubbling scares me so I want it to be second nature!) but I'm thinking about the DVD. Let me know how it goes.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:Taking PT tomorrow with Simugator's DVD Proctor and bubble sheet for the first time!

Anyone coming to this evening's study group session at 4:30pm ET ? Should be worthwhile.

God I suuuuuckkkkkkk....
Took PT 15:
163
RC: -6 (!)
LR1: -0
LR2: -3
LG: -9. Yup, 9.
That means my PTs have gone 160, 162, 163. With weeks of prep between them. Slow and steady but I don't think I'll be winning any races any time soon.
I'd just like to thank the mapping game I guessed on completely, my neighbors huge-ass barking dog that was my background music, and last but not least, Kinko's for skipping 3 pages and copying RC out of order so I got to scramble to reference my book and flip back and forth. Oh, oh and I can't forget my own inadequacy! I couldn't have done it without you guys.

Come to the room. Let's go over some stuff. I am having a hard time staying motivated. I can understand the background music. There is a band playing next door most of the time.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
