Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Deciding what I should PT today. You guys have any opinions about PTing 68/69/71 (all of which I have PT'd within the past 2 months) or doing fresh PT in the 30s? 31 - 38 specifically. Was thinking I'd do a fresh one and add a section from 67 - 71 in as experimental?
LG is my worst section, so trying to focus on that, while also PTing. I know LGs change quite a bit throughout test history so not sure how helpful LG from 30s are. Also, I generally like to throw in an LR experimental because that fatigues me the most.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
on break now-- same with games, I basically checked every possible answer twice and still had time. didn't think LR was too unreasonable but I'm a horrible judge of LRzacboro wrote:PT 69, LG section was so easy I seriously finished with like 10 minutes left... Once I realized how much time was left I went through and checked my answers and, yup, still good. All though the first LR section was really difficult IMO.
ETA: I dislike when people bring up softs because it makes me so uneasy about how nonexistent mine are...

Y'all are making me feel lazy. Slept in, cooked breakfast for the family (vegetarian redeye gravy, biscuits, eggs over medium), watched Rio and Shrek with the kidlet.
Drilling later... yeah.
Need to get some apps done too.

I rotate among the first 3 sections using old RC/LR/LG sections.Dirigo wrote:How do you guys pick where to put your experimental section? Do you guys do it totally randomly or what?

I was under the impression that this still holds true for most tests. I know mine in September and June bothwere early.Dirigo wrote:I thought that was old school thinking and now they can be any section.nlee10 wrote:Aren't experimental sections typically before break?Dirigo wrote:Why not sections 4 & 5?nlee10 wrote: I rotate among the first 3 sections using old RC/LR/LG sections.

In the two I've taken, and in the two previous threads I've been apart of, people say that like literally there has been one reported case where it was section #4. Every other time it was in the first 3

ahh. oh wells, I suppose it's a bit more challenging anyways if the experimental is early on.Dirigo wrote: I thought that was old school thinking and now they can be any section.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Yeah, I'm not sure and I thought it could be any section. However when I use an experimental I usually put it in the first 3 sections because I get more tired towards the end so having the experimental early makes it more challenging for me. I guess I can take it 4th also, but if I put it 5th then I feel like it would partially defeat the purpose of using a experimental.nlee10 wrote:ahh. oh wells, I suppose it's a bit more challenging anyways if the experimental is early on.Dirigo wrote: I thought that was old school thinking and now they can be any section.

eta: from Manhattan Blog: "The conventional wisdom used to hold that the experimental section would only appear in one of the first three sections. Up until a few years ago, that was true, and as a result test takers could sometimes use the ordering of their sections to determine (usually after the fact) which section must have been their experimental. At the very least, they could be certain that their final two sections would be scored.
However, beginning with the October 2011 exam, some test takers have received exams with an experimental section in one of the final two sections of the exam (sections 4 or 5). So you can no longer simply trust your section lineup to tell you which section is experimental. You need to give every section your best effort.
Bottom line: in the current LSATs, the experimental can potentially show up in any section!"
